My God some of these guys saw this thread and it was like looking at a bone in ribeye. They couldn't wait to tell their gun at school story. Was a time I wished I lived in I admit. I graduated high school in '06 and did what I wanted and was never bothered about it but I don't have any epic stories like "Me and the Principal had a contest over who could hit the goal post with their rifle from the gym roof." Boomers never cease to entertain and are quite predictable! Country aint country anymore either!

[quote=Always ready 2 hunt]We didn't leave shot guns/rifles in trucks in school lot. We took them inside the locker room and stood them up along wall. Many a day straight from hunting to practice and vice-versa. Now, I don't leave guns in truck anywhere and when traveling to/from lease try not to stop anywhere. If I do plan to stop they go in back bed with cover locked...I figure safer there than even when covered up in back seat from a curious window breaker
As for OP. Nothing wrong with gun racks in truck but it does invite you more as a target of the smash and grab evilstomato's,
Remember about 20 years ago some genius was selling those ultra realistic rear window sun screens of AR's in gun racks? A lot of rear windows got busted out at Walmarts.
