About to get out and go home. I’ve never been so damn annoyed with my 5 year old as I am right now.

It's so foggy, I can't see but about 40-50 yards.

Got out yesterday around 3 pm, nice 3.5yo 8pt came out to corned sendero around 5:30. Two 3yo 8pts harassing a doe early this morning, around 6:35am, after young forty 4pt kept me company for 20 minutes or so. Very quiet, little to no shots yesterday or so far this morning. Do believe the rut has started based on early harassing I saw.

Lol. Sometimes it's tough to hunt with them at that age.

Fog lifted some here. Had a young 8 walk across the food plots in front of me.

5 Doe, 7 fawns and a little 6pt. Bucks usually show up late to this stand. Duck hunters are having a blast (literally) just north of me.

"Who is in their blind?"

To those on their phone answering this, I have to wonder if a better question might be 'who is paying attention'?

Put the damn phone down and enjoy your outing.

(Written from home...on my computer). Hoping to make it out later today.

I am enjoying my outing. I used to read a book in the stand sometimes. Read a little. Scan a little. I miss less doing this than I do sleeping.

I like taking Readers Digest to the blind. Short stories, jokes, etc. some days are just super boring with absolutely no animals or even birds moving. Keeps me in the stand longer.

Tank, small lakes. I don't mind, doesn't bother the deer at all, and it keeps the pigs away. They're not right next door, about a mile or so away.

He made it tough. Turns out he is a lot like me, whodathunkit, he’d rather be on foot hunting than sitting in a blind. So we spent 4 hours walking and glassing and ended up chasing turkeys

He will only be five once. Enjoy the time and remember it so you can tell the stories when he grows up.

Got a few this morning, one nice 8pt at the feeder, lots of fawns. 10 total so far. I've owned this ranch 26 years and have never seen so many fawns. Most Does have twins. I guess killing 19 coyotes in 18 months did the trick.

A really nice 9pt and a young 8pt joined the crowd. 12 total now. Behind me is a 40 acre wheat field. After the rain last week it's coming in good. A little to short for deer to be feeding on, but that'll change is a few days.

I expect to be in the blind by 2pm. Opening day was a little disappointing.

Sitting in my northern most stand this morning. 17 so far, a nice 10pt and an extremely nice 9pt. Both 4yr olds, they get a pass for a couple more years.

Had a 2yr old 8 pt, 3yr old 8pt, 4yr old 9pt and 10pt. Cool this morning, 41 in this bottom and rut is in full swing. Glad I put out a bunch of road corn this morning. Corned close to 500 yards total down three senderos,

Jimbo....I have never had does spook with a scent of Tinks 69.... that I can remember.....I am not questioning your experience but unusual for me..lol Do you have Tinks 69 Doe-in-Rut....Estrous Urine? Could it be possible the does caught a scent of a buck in the brush? The more you use Tinks 69 the more you will see how powerful that stuff is. Tinks 69 works so good a friend of mine was a biologist said that he didn't like hunters using that stuff as it was unfair.Lol
