Have eaten both on many occasions but never noticed a difference.

Great way to spend time with your boy and I’d eat the hell out of that fish. Your boy is getting big. He is starting to look like a grown man. Well done!

That is a nice eating size and great way to cook them. On the half shell is also tasty.

What’s the biggest bass you’ve eaten?

Thanks! He had a great time. This tank hadn’t been fished much. The bass were all healthy but every one of them weighed around 2 1/4 lbs. We caught one around 4. Dax is like me and doesn’t care much for sitting in a deer blind. We decided to fish hard and kill something if we had an opportunity. Was a great weekend with a couple of full 65 quart coolers full of bass.

I’ve never understood the myth that big bass aren’t good to eat. I’ve eaten some giants and the meat is exactly the same. It’s all just as white and pretty no matter what size the bass is. Growing up my grandfather and I filleted plenty of 6-8 pound bass and they were great. I throw back the big ones these days but gill hooked a 9.5 a few years ago at Amistad on a Spook. Her meat was just as pretty as a 2 pounder and tasted the same.

Yuppie bass fisherman started the myth that large bass aren't good eating. The TFF is full of them.

She claimed it wouldn’t break down and get mushy. Now that you mention it, I feel like she would use red fish if she had to.
