Hunted yesterday evening, then watched some of the election on my laptop .
Get a text this morning at 12:52 from my neighbor that typed; Yoo hoo (which meant DJT won. 🇺🇸)
Been in the blind for 3 1/2 hours this am watching the grass grow.

Who is in or about to be? :

I hunted a couple of hours yesterday evening. A doe and fawn came to the feeder about 5:40pm and that was it.

I`ve hunted every sit but Sunday afternoon. Yesterday, me and my son saw 3 different bucks that we had never seen before. An 11, 10 and 8 point. It was 35 degrees when I got into the blind this morning and say 13-14 slick heads and only 2 young 9 points that are regulars. They all ate the hand corn right up until 9 o'clock and then headed off. Probably miss this afternoon and stay home for a celebratory supper for DJT winning the election and saving our country from the left. All in all, we`re seeing lots of deer, some rutting activity, but not as many bucks as we usually see.

Will be in a couple of hours. But just coyote hunting and watching. Not going to shoot a deer on my ranch this year.

Well for the life of me could not understand why I have only seen a couple of deer. After my hunt this am I put out a bail of Alfalfa ( 2 string bale cost $17.00 eeks333 )
Go up to the feeder pen and there is only a few kernels of corn on the ground? Look at the programmer everything is right, battery indicator said it had a full charge so I did a test throw and it is was having a hard time spinning.
Figured it was the bolt had loosened itself off the spinning rod that spins the plate. Get my 10mm socket out and take it apart, put it back together run a test and nope, not that

Short story long grin Even though the programmer said the battery was full charge, it was not, bought another 12 V and back in business I hope!

I had a funny one the other day . Feeder took a crap right before the opener (like it usually does) had somebody stop by as I was out of town for work check this check that everything checked out still not slinging corn . I finally make it out there expecting to swap out battery solar panel corroded wire ect ect ran a few test myself and It didn’t make sense . Well I finally saw it and laughed some knuckle head put corn in the feeder and the string off the bag some how ended up in the barrell made its way down and wrapped itself between the motor and the spinner luckily it didn’t burn up the motor

Stompy..could ya install a reversable trap door for your hogs on the fence lines? Feed just outside the door. Maybe will work or not? Just a thought.

Hunting from the house this afternoon, too muddy to get out. I'll just waste the afternoon watching my house deer.

Got out yesterday around 3 pm, nice 3.5yo 8pt came out to corned sendero around 5:30. Two 3yo 8pts harassing a doe early this morning, around 6:35am, after young forty 4pt kept me company for 20 minutes or so. Very quiet, little to no shots yesterday or so far this morning. Do believe the rut has started based on early harassing I saw.

Lol. Sometimes it's tough to hunt with them at that age.

Fog lifted some here. Had a young 8 walk across the food plots in front of me.

5 Doe, 7 fawns and a little 6pt. Bucks usually show up late to this stand. Duck hunters are having a blast (literally) just north of me.

"Who is in their blind?"

To those on their phone answering this, I have to wonder if a better question might be 'who is paying attention'?

Put the damn phone down and enjoy your outing.

(Written from home...on my computer). Hoping to make it out later today.

I am enjoying my outing. I used to read a book in the stand sometimes. Read a little. Scan a little. I miss less doing this than I do sleeping.

I like taking Readers Digest to the blind. Short stories, jokes, etc. some days are just super boring with absolutely no animals or even birds moving. Keeps me in the stand longer.

Tank, small lakes. I don't mind, doesn't bother the deer at all, and it keeps the pigs away. They're not right next door, about a mile or so away.

He made it tough. Turns out he is a lot like me, whodathunkit, he’d rather be on foot hunting than sitting in a blind. So we spent 4 hours walking and glassing and ended up chasing turkeys

He will only be five once. Enjoy the time and remember it so you can tell the stories when he grows up.

Got a few this morning, one nice 8pt at the feeder, lots of fawns. 10 total so far. I've owned this ranch 26 years and have never seen so many fawns. Most Does have twins. I guess killing 19 coyotes in 18 months did the trick.

A really nice 9pt and a young 8pt joined the crowd. 12 total now. Behind me is a 40 acre wheat field. After the rain last week it's coming in good. A little to short for deer to be feeding on, but that'll change is a few days.

I expect to be in the blind by 2pm. Opening day was a little disappointing.

Sitting in my northern most stand this morning. 17 so far, a nice 10pt and an extremely nice 9pt. Both 4yr olds, they get a pass for a couple more years.

Perfect morning but nothing so far today. Had 3 doe come thru yesterday evening but skedaddled when they caught scent of the Tinks 69 I had put out.

Had a 2yr old 8 pt, 3yr old 8pt, 4yr old 9pt and 10pt. Cool this morning, 41 in this bottom and rut is in full swing. Glad I put out a bunch of road corn this morning. Corned close to 500 yards total down three senderos,

Jimbo....I have never had does spook with a scent of Tinks 69.... that I can remember.....I am not questioning your experience but unusual for me..lol Do you have Tinks 69 Doe-in-Rut....Estrous Urine? Could it be possible the does caught a scent of a buck in the brush? The more you use Tinks 69 the more you will see how powerful that stuff is. Tinks 69 works so good a friend of mine was a biologist said that he didn't like hunters using that stuff as it was unfair.Lol

My first time also. Yes, that’s what I have, new bottle. My blind is facing south and the wind was high out of the NW. they crossed over from my right and were heading to my pig feeder just SE of me and were fine until they got close to the pen. It’s quite possible a buck was coming in from the east or NE but it’s thick brush on that side and I never saw him.

Best pic I could get of the big 9pt. Pic not that good, doesn't show his width. He might be a 3yr old, he won't stick around long enough for me to judge him.

Saw this small racked bruiser. Must like to fight.

A few young Bucks chasing doe’s this morning.

In the stand now.

One decent 8 came cruising through early, looking for love, but he kept going on his patrol. Just some young 'uns. TWA hunters took out some moms last weekend.

Breezy. Weird early morning light with the moon still up through clouds as the sun rose.

I noticed the weird color too Creek. Kinda the same color when an early morning storm is blowing in. Had a lot of activity but everything left at 8:00.

Odd sunrise for sure. Yesterday morning just before sunup I had a super nice 8 outside my pig feeder almost straight east of the blind. Just as I put my rifle on him the sun popped up and since he was back in trees some, I couldn’t get a good sight picture on him. Had to watch him saunter off. Was hoping he’d return today. That’s hunting!

Good picture of an obvious B&C trophy Walking Stick up Are you going to have it shoulder or full body mount?

One afternoon a couple of weeks ago I was enjoying a cold one, had a neat visitor just show up on my knee. Watched him for awhile until he started walking towards my crotch then it was time for a relocation.
Dropped him off on a nearby Cedar tree.

Real tall, wide 8 came in, then an older, basket-horn 10 cruised through for a bit. Great to see a mature guy like that, but, I put my son in the wrong blind this morning. bang

Fun afternoon, three 9pts, two that are 4yr old. 3 smaller bucks, 4 doe and 4 fawns. Here's the biggest 9pt, he was a 10 but broke about a 8 or 9" tine off.

Back at it today. Cooler today and the next couple of mornings are forecasted to be in the upper 30’s. Hoping it gets them moving a bit. Gotta get this full moon cycle behind us.

Good luck Jimbo. I'm taking a couple hunts off, be back in the stand tomorrow afternoon. That being said, I've got about 15 that I can see from my house now. North of my house about 200 yards, I have a corn and protein feeder. About 200 yards south of my house, I have a little 3 acre wheat food plot.

Thanks Stompy, and you as well. Had a small 8 come in and was scared off by some cows. After they moved on, he came back and was joined by a very nice tall 8. Brought my rifle up and had him in the crosshairs but couldn’t pull the trigger. Watched both of them move over to the pig feeder 50 yards from the blind. Still couldn’t take him down and he walked off. This is the first year out of the last 10 that my wife hasn’t hunted with me. Different not having her here to share the experience. Hopefully he’ll show up tomorrow and give me another chance.
