Twitty, TX - Nov. 2nd : Morning Sit - 1-2" of rain and high winds. <> Nothing moving. - Afternoon Sit - Intermittent rain and light wind. <> Coyote ignores quail under feeder and proceeds to pounce playfully into puddles. <> Decent buck appears at sharp left angle to stand window and leaps fence above / behind us. Run to fence but he's vanished into 100 acres of grass somehow. <> Doe appears 200 yards out from feeder at a full sprint never stopping. <> An un-collared German Sheppard and a black mutt appear where the buck popped out sniffing around. I chase them off with a branch. No houses nearby and no trucks have come down the road. <> Doe steps up to feeder and my 13yr old takes his first deer.

My dad also tagged one. Probably the best or pretty close to best to come off our place. That’s really a good buck!! The picture is fantastic as well. I take tons of pics with a pretty fancy camera but all I do is point and shoot and mine dont seem to come out with that much color or vivid or rich or whatever. Or maybe yall just got a lot of rain…… Any special camera or skills??
At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations. RWH

hah! Thank You! definitely no skills on my part....just a cell phone pic. we are starting to dry up but we did get some good rain (much better down south than around home) at the right times. I've gotten toward i do try to put a little effort into posturing the animal for photo and to turn the head slightly one way or other to get some side view of the antler. gives it some depth. I'm no photographer though.

Had a Good Friday. Last day of bow season. Had my gun ready to go for today but I was pretty hell bent to get my first ever bow buck and it worked out. Nice bow buck.

Got a call around 9:30 from the kid requesting a pick up. It was garbled and couldn’t hear anything he was saying, I told the wife he had either killed something or got tired of the wind. Took his truck down there and saw him standing in the middle of the field… Last buck he has killed was 4 years ago. He is lucky but also patient. He passed on another large 8 just prior to shooting this one. Great deer for that area. Love the dark horns and mass carrying all the way out. Really unusual for bucks in that area to carry good mass all the way out, but they are this year.
