Nice pics. Dang Scott from Dallas. That’s a nice deer. 🦌
Thanks. I've had a small property in Camp county for about a dozen years and have only taken a couple does and spikes off it over the years. This one had a lot of character so I decided to take him. He was a bruiser.

I'll step right over a 140" buck to kill a coyote all day long. Excellent job
Me too, I love hunting coyotes. Haven’t shot a deer in probably 8 or 9 years, heck I haven’t shot anything in 7 years, that was probably the third time I got to hunt in 7 years.
I hunted yesterday and saw a few deer, then decided to come back home and wait until deer hunting weather arrives. Hopefully that happens before the season closes. Can't remember an Opening Day when I heard so few shots. Less than 10 yesterday morning and just three in the evening.

First time in years I haven’t hunted opening day of general season. I was busy planting a food plot. It has ben so dry here that I’m a month behind planting on three different leases. Two, down, one to go, hope to get it tomorrow !

I know about those Nocona deer. I got this guy about an hour after sunup. Not a big rack, but he weighed 162 pounds. I had a heck of a time getting him into the truck, as I just came off of shoulder surgery last month, and my hoist jammed.
One cool thing: I recovered the bullet from his hide. This happened because I made a poor shot. He turned just as I fired, and it went through stomach, liver, and lung. He jumped out of the feed pen, but stayed in sight and went down in about 40 yards. 180 gr. Hornady Interlock 30 cal from a 30-06 at about 50 yards. It retained 145 grs. weight.
Congrats to everyone who got one! It was wet and hot and not a lot was moving even at the feeders. Besides getting my truck stuck on Friday it was a great weekend at deer camp. Was able to broadcast a small kill food plot and trapped 2 racoons and one opossum to help out the turkeys. I'll wait for the cold front before heading out again.
it was warm and humid but at least some breezy. our feeders were running late becuase set on winter time and time hadn't changed yet on saturday. hadn't been seeing this deer previously but he came in and my son took the shot. Other than it was hot it was a good weekend in the woods.
