Going to 3-18x costs ya a 1/4lb Being a 6x reticle, bottom end is going to be pretty skinny for daylight and dark.

I haven't found any scope at 18x that truly works great at the last few minutes, I generally have to back off the magnification and that is with the best scopes out there.. I do like the idea of reduced weight with the 30mm tube vs 34/5 of a "tactical" scope as you don't probably need that much elevation capability hunting.
Been running a Steiner Tactical 3-15x50 on my 16" 308 the last few years for hunting and it has worked great, having said that, for my normal "max" hunting of around 500 the LHRS 3-12 absolutely does the job,

Since this thread started 2 months ago has anyone tried out the GPO Centauri? I have found that Superior Outfitters currently has them for $499. Anyone have experience with Superior?

Camera land put them on sale for $509.
Looks like you would need a picatinny rail for that scope to work. You don’t get much tube length for rings.

I just mounted Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 MRAD, FFP, Illuminated Reticle on my new 22 ARC. I'm very impressed with it so far. I have a Nightforce ATACR and NX8 and a couple Gen 3 Razors and it definitely is not on their levels but I would say it compares very well to a Burris XTR II (Not my XTR III). It is 27 oz so its not a feather but it isn't a pig either. I have only shot it out to 300 yards but it performed well. I like higher magnification power than really needed on then less than premium glass because 20x on a 27x scope looks a lot better than 18x on an 18x scope with sub $1k glass. My opinion only..

Needs to be run through the “mils” under the recoil of a 300 mag or something to see if it holds. Interesting scope for sure. See how it optically compares to other mid-tier glass

I'm about to get a Leica AMPLUS 6 3-18x44 in my hands to test out. Will let you know how it goes. 23.6 oz.
I'll be testing out their clip on thermal as well with it. Very excited for that!
