Played The Bridges yesterday and the course and weather was nice. The price was pretty outrageous for the lack of amenities. Third time for me to play there and I never paid $110 on a Monday before.

Pass the gravy.

GasGuzzler, the Bridges used to be reasonable but they went up substantially last summer. I played Turkey Hill over Thansgiving and was pleasantly surprised. They actually have bent greens that are quite nice. Faiways aren't great but I move the ball a little anyway to get a decent lie. It's priced right too.

Wow to me that is outrageous for that course in late fall.

Never heard of Turkey Hill, where is that at? Use to play Turtle Hill up by Muenster.

My typo. Turtle Hill. Yes it is up just north of Muenster. Had to make a stop at Fischer's on the way home.

Use to love playing there even though it was a long haul from Dallas. Nice little inexpensive course with that cool signature par 3. Bummer that they put those wind turbines right up next to the course.

The bent grass greens are really nice. Not that many courses still have bent grass. Most have gone to that tiff hybrid. It was a pleasant surprise.

Played many a round at Turtle Hill, especially when I started playing golf in 2019. It's good in the spring but there is hardly any irrigation on the fairways so only the greens are good in the summer ... usually. Then there's the windmills. But for those who haven't been there in a while, I wouldn't call it cheap. North of $50 on the weekend for a remote course with 1982 golf carts isn't a steal. But the scenery is nice...other than the windmills. Everyone "local enough" should play it once, especially for hole 11. Y'all PM me and we can play it some time. It's the third closest course to me outside of Gainesville Municiple and WinStar.

Pass the gravy.

I've never played, but I've thought about it over the years. I have a set of clubs my dad gave me (not sure what they are). Some guys in our home study group from church are planning a trip to Top Golf, so that will be my first introduction to swinging a golf club. I'm not sure if it will be fun, a disaster, or both. roflmao

Top Golf sells alcohol so it can be fun grin Watch a couple of short Youtube videos on beginners' golf before you go.

Played 36 holes Friday afternoon then beat my all time score yesterday with a 78. Five years of playing golf starting at age 45 and I finally broke 80. Had previously shot 82 three times.

That’s a great score at any age or years or experience. Congrats

Is that the best deal going up here? That's certainly a reasonble monthly fee, but I haven't heard great things about the way they keep the course. I'm fixing to retire and would like something similar. I've been told several courses offer green fees in exchange for some part time marshalling duties. I would not mind that either.

That sounds like a deal depending on the course, is that a month by month or some type of longer commitment?

So my dad gave me a new box of golf balls to try. He’s been using them a little while and says he really likes them. I guess the guy who developed them is the same guy who helped develop the proV1’s and several others.

They’re made by Snell Golf. You guys ever try them?

What balls do yall like the best?

I’ve hit Snells, and the Kirkland balls from Costco….but for the last 5 years or so have played Vice balls exclusively. The Vice Pro works best for me. Great balls around the green. I honestly can’t tell the difference between them and the ProV….except price!

Agree, play the lime Vice Pro Plus and for $38/39++ it plays like a $55++ ProV or TP5. If you buy 5 dozen of the Vice ball online direct through Vice, believe the price drops to $32.99 or $34.99 per dozen, can't recall for sure. Think the Vice off driver may be 2-5 yards shorter than ProV or TP5 but that's about only possible playability difference I see.

Try Maxfli golf balls, I hit the tour X. I put them up against all the others 8n the sim and they can't be beat, especially for the price. Right now they are going for 4 dozen for $99. Search them up.
