I have nothing to add to this discussion other than to say Texas's signature win and reason for their ranking so far is against a very mediocre UM team that should have 4 losses now sans some significant help from referees and one really paradoxical coach in Southern Cal. Amazing how no one has mentioned the cheating scandal and how the lack of cheating has turned that cesspool up north back to their original pre-cheating era where they were pretty mid and got blasted on the field way too often.

Not saying Texas is garbage or anything, but we really do not know what they are just yet. The meat of their schedule is coming up.

The good news is a 2-3 loss Texas, Georgia and Bama will get into the playoff. Easily with 2 losses, if the third loss is in the SECD championship, then they are in. SO, the regular season still means something, but not as devastating to have a loss against a Vandy or an Ole Miss or aTm or whoever.

Really interested to see how this playoff format changes the dynamics of the playoff. I would love to see a Georgia or Bama, or even Texas, go play a game at Happy Valley in the end of December and see how that goes. Not saying PSU is a great team either, just saying they will likely have one or two losses, and they will likely be there as well.

I agree it all shales out. That’s what i love about the college football system, we always know who is the cream by the end of the season. I do like the new playoff format, makes it so a songle loss does not eliminate anyone in a P4 program. I think k there have been several teams over the year left off the playoff due to a single loss that were hetter than teams that got in.

The new format is great but I wouldn't say that Ohio State has played anybody yet either with a schedule of Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall, MSU and Iowa. I do think OSU is really good and I agree it's great to see Michigan flounder hell you guys might even beat them this year

Thus why there needed to be 12 team play off, that way the argument is not if you are the best but wether you are the 12th best team, with that said the extended #of games is a lot for those kids, especially the ones not insured by NIL
