They need the Union Vote, along with the LGBTQ vote, the lazy teacher vote, the anti police vote, the people that want transgender illegal immigrants in prison to have sex change surgery on our tax $ vote and every other fringe weird group vote that all added up could make the difference in an election vote.

No, a real President would Invoke the " Taft–Hartley Act of 1947 " and be done with it.

Would love for some reporter to ask that douch nozzle if he cares about their strike affecting crucial relief supplies reaching the hurricane survivors.

Fire them all and replace them with automation.

This strike will expedite that, I’m sure.

Start taking apps now. Fill the jobs.
Biden should send in military to work until then but of course he won’t.

He doesn't even want cameras reading license plates of trucks entering/exiting the port to keep up with the movement of goods. He wants two employees standing there with clipboards writing them down, then they check each other to insure each recorded the same #. What a self serving POS this lard a-- is. He makes close to $1,000,000.00 a year "representing" these workers. Union guys are paid by the members, usually dues are the equivalent of two hours pay per month. The camera that records the license plates doesn't pay him dues each month. The two guys with clipboards do. He needs to fill up his yacht with diesel. Dues from workers is how he gets $ for diesel. Automation means he may not get to use his yacht as often.

Bullies lost their relevance in about the 8th grade. Smart people usually win.

No automation is the dumbest thing I have heard of, unbelievable really. So dumb I did believe it and had to look it up. That is one thing they should not give into.

Reagan got rid of Federal employees, air traffic controllers, right?

How would any US president fire strikers who are working for private enterprise?

Isn't it somewhat involved using that equipment, container cranes, huge loaders, etc and also knowledge of how to load different ships?

Doesn't the US Navy even use a lot of private enterprise now for loading and unloading Navy ships?

He can't fire them, but can force them back to work during negotiations in the interest of the country. Taft Hartley Act, in part.

Union boss already said if forced back to work “we usually move 30 containers an hour but if forced to work you’ll be lucky if we do 8.”

Do you know if it would be the executive, legislative or judicial branch of government to activate the Taft Hartley Act in this instance?

Yeah and I got that info from a dock crane operator that pulled down $280k last year.
Even with the new contract they have the option to strike in January 2025 if they don't get everything they want this round.
