I agree,,having a thermal scanner is ok...my point was at 05:00 am took a shot ....he had to have a scop enhancing light to take a shot as it was too dark for any other means.

The challenge of hunting while sitting in a blind over a feeder? Give me a break. Who said anything about hunting in a blind over feeders? You got an answer for everything. Amazing to be that smart.

It is too tempting to take advantage using sight during dark thirty. My neighbor shot at 05:05 am opening morning a few years ago. I do believe he probably took a nice buck. Could have been a pig? If you know for sure call the game warden next time.

When you can locate an animal with a device that you cannot locate without it, I have to draw the line there. Have you ever used a fish-finder?

When you can locate an animal with a device that you cannot locate without it, I have to draw the line there. Have you ever used a fish-finder? Good point but begs the same questions. Im not sure the exact definition of ethics but that seems to be the question. To me ethics would be looked at in two ways. One is your personal ethics which means you decide where to draw the line. Second case is ethics as it relates to societal norms. In either case TxTro would be right to “question” this practice. It goes against his personal ideals and also it is not commonly excepted in our hunting society. Im sure in the future it could become a common practice, not unlike any other technology change. This is not unlike some not thinking its right to hunt over a feeder, or hunt with a crossbow, or use tech to shoot deer at non traditional ranges, or countless other examples. The debates will never end, and that’s ok. Im sure the Indians did not like being shot at by rifles…..
At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations. RWH

This seems to be a rather sensitive subject with some folks, but I have to say that using a thermal almost seems like cheating. However I can see the arguments presented on both sides of this discussion, both sides have some pretty good points. JMHO
