Manning certainly is not ready to compete against a good defense. His reps are valuable, if Ewers injury is serious OU will be a different test for Manning.

Even though I think Danny Stutsman is the most overhyped LB in college. Seems like a good guy, his play is overhyped.

Agree, on skates a lot, gets lots of trash LB tackles away from point of attack.

Ewers is good to go.

Ewers is starting against OU. That was the plan all along.

Point is, he's often knocked around in box and put on skates by OL, a good many of his tackles happen outside the "box"; elite linebackers like Singletary, Urlacher, Ray Lewis and now Fred Warner made their livings inside "the box", 2-3 yards on either side of line of scrimmage, aka "point of attack" on tackle to tackle running plays. Making a bunch of downfield tackles past the first and second level, you may as well be a DB.

I would have like to see him get a few reps last week. A true two week break is a lot mentally.

He'll hot the ground running, next year.

Think I'd pump the brakes just a tad, he's beat 3 dog teams so far, UTSA, UL Monroe and MS State. Has played good against some rough teams.

Agree with BOBO Manning is not there yet. The game between Alabama and Georgia did not show immense talent and Alabama barely won the game. On a good day Texas will give them a run for their money.

Yelp, it’s not the numbers he put up against bottom 50 defenses, it’s where they came from on the field, and what he missed. You won’t have the same deep ball against Bama, Georgia, Tenn etc, you have to build to it by making safeties roll up. He is a hell of an athlete and will be really good, still a pup on reading defenses.

Texas also has to get rushing game going, linebackers are going to kill them being able to get zone so quick.

Hopefully Ewers doesn’t come out cold and Oline gets going, Be great to see them in the NC but right now, I don’t think they get past Georgia

lol, Yelp I played D1 and D2 since we didn’t have portal back then and I didn’t want to sit out a year, since flight school was off the table @ USAFA. And yes I have helped recruit and grade film for several coaches/past teammates, also been offered coaching spots etc.

I hate bobo too. Because he told me last spring that Texas was the only team that could beat Georgia and had a serious chance at a natty.

He was wrong about 1 so far. Georgia done gone down.

I think we’re living in an “any given Saturday” situation, in the SEC. Many teams are capable of beating any of the top 3.
A&M can beat Texas. Auburn can beat Alabama. Ole Miss can beat Georgia. LSU. Tenn. Mizzou are all in play too.

In my defense I said “looks to go through Georgia but we will find out this weekend”. We did it goes through Bama now. Georgia has the toughest schedule though amongst Tx, Bama and Tenn.
