Yes I did because it's a Ruger .480 I don't think anyone shoots the big pistols double action.

Bfr in 500jrh has wild to mild loads. Haven't taken any game with it yet. Freedom arms 41 mag. Its scoped and has actin job. Ruger blackhawk 44 special. I just can't shoot the single action guns good. I have good moments with the freedom arms then next group sucks. X frame 460 and 500 in the stable too. The jrh will probably go down the road at some point as i don't need 2 50 caliber guns. The 629 and 657 i shoot pretty goodand i guess im partial to double actions. The freedom arms gun was a retirement gun and i eventually will learn to shoot it good. Until then the 657 gets deer stand duty. Its weird that i shoot pretty good groups with the 44 special open sights. All others are scoped or red dots.

That is a very hard to find edition - especially in .41M.
But then you new that, right?

Yes sir. Bought it online from a Cableas in Utah, in 2012.
Since then hubby got me an unfired S&W .41 mag, I wanted a double action .41 as well..

She will gut them, she’s too slow to skin them.

Here's another .41 mag and a .44 mag.
Spouse's FA .454.

I like a companion sidearm to my Henry .41 mag lever action when I hog hunt.
Spouse has a Rossi .454 as well.

.41's aren't big bores and .44S is really not in the theme here either. I can load a .357 that's hotter than any .44S so what's the point.

Wanna have a versatile .40+ then load .45 Colt. THAT's the mild to wild mid-to a little bit big bore.

Pass the gravy.

Good grief I stated I didn't think .41 was a big bore.
Done flexing yet?

My .44 Bisley with Speer 240gr HPs in front of H110. First time out last Sat morning with the Burris scope at 50 and 100yds. Not bad. A little more to dial in. Usually load Hornady XTP 240g HPs which the Ruger likes.

Care to share your ACP load?
I’m getting ready to start ACP load development for my flat top pictured earlier in this thread. Thinking 250 grain MP 454-640 over Power Pistol.

If you are referencing me, I only reload rifle. I carry 255 grain hard cast from Underwood Ammo.

Sweet pistols gentlemen.
The birdshead grip is one I'd like to have as well. It and the Bisley fit my hand well.

How's the recoil with the .45 birdshead?

I am using a Ruger SBH 10 1/2”.
Replaced front sight with fiber optic, black sight on black hog is hard to see. It’s actually a sight for a Ruger Mark something 22LR
Rear is ghost ring. Some people hate them but it works for me.

I had heard the clicks while cocking a single action would scar off game.
I did an experiment. This doe came into 5 yards, not hunting does. I cocked the hammer, nothing. Not even an ear twitch. Cocked 10 more times. She eventually noticed and took a couple steps towards me.
With this particular deer it’s not a problem.
