Concrete shooting bench is awesome!
I put 5 coats of flex seal from the can on it and after 2 summers it still looks brand new.

I hunted Colorado in the SJNF in a little tent in 16" of snow while it thunder-snowed at night. I was too poor and stupid to know I was horribly uncomfortable. Now I hunt with my house as a base of operations. Been there my man

I grew up hunting family land and at the time we had an older single wide trailer house, basically all of the comforts of home. First two leases I was on the brother and law had a 70's model winnie that we stayed in, no electric hookups, some of the 12v stuff worked, mainly lighting, but from there it was more just a semi-mobile rigid tent. No complaints though. Last lease in had a bunkhouse, but we weren't down for that so we built a modular cabin that was 8'x16'. Had a bunk-bed at one end. Was actually pretty roomy for it's size. It was primitive, but we had a/c we could run on the gennie and DC for lights. Small propane indoor heater to knock the chill out of it. Eventually added a porch w/awning, outdoor wing on the end for a cook area, and fenced a small yard for the dogs. Now I'm back on the family land and have a built out shipping container cabin. Had power brought in so while it's still primitive in some ways (no water), it's still very comfortable for me and not terrible with two people. I could very realistically live in it pretty comfortably as-is, but still planning to add a shower and sink kind of RV style to round it out. I do have a chemical toilet but only use it when it's too cold or wet to grab the potty chair and shovel. The living area is done, but the rest is still a work in progress. As I get older my willingness to forgo modern comforts seems to be waning a bit. It also helps to have the security of not worrying about losing a lease and having to deal with moving it all. I've spent a few nights in the Rockies tenting it on Elk hunts too though. Even then though, we weren't exactly roughing it.

Yep well done indeed. What many say they don’t need, but also that which many would cherish if circumstances allowed for it.

started out around 50 years ago sleeping in camp on a cot with nothing else other than that. Graduated to a tent. Then upgraded to small travel trailer which was like the Taj Mahal - then went to a mobile home - At age 71 I am all about comfort and relaxing -
You can't fix stupid

I just picked up a little Coleman lantern 17b it’s a game changer for me and my family. This is also the first lease I have ever had with electric and water at a camp site. No more coyotes yipping outside the tent all night for us. I’m probably going to miss it.

Good grief TBar; that looks like the white folks downtown.

Where I stay. Working on replacing/repairing the 50 year old overhead power wiring that has been spliced 4 times between the transformer and the breaker panel. Want to get off a generator. Where I hunt. 200 yard shot across our lower pond made easy from a shooting bench. Too close to the property line. I feel like I'm feeding the neighbor's deer. Next year I'll move to a more central spot.
