I have USAA, had a sewer slab leak - they didn't cover it. This Yea, the agent explained there’s a separate clause I can add for sewer under slab for $55 a year. And foundation up to $15k for $80 a year. You can add coverage after an issue is discovered? No. I didn’t mention I might have a problem.

Eval was indeed free. Guy used earphones hooked up to a machine and with the main shut off could hear water moving at the water heater and under the sink. Just emailed me - $4,750 for rerouting pex hot water line through the attic. Drywall repair not included. Ouch!

Just went through this man in our master bathroom. Copper cold water pipe leak under the slab. I had three different plumbers come out they all had three different approaches. Went with the company that agreed to reroute the line per my recommendation through an interior wall to the cold water manifold with pex and behind the garden tub enclosure to the cold water line feeding the garden tub at the slab... this bypassed the copper under the slab. No digging no trenching no going through the attic... kept it pretty reasonable. No. Insurance. I will get the name of the company and plug it in here in a moment

Cody did the work.
My buddy has this genius pulse generating machine and we put a charged lead on the cold water pipe and were able to track the cold water line under the slab into the wall where the manifold was. It was exactly where I told the plumber it would be. He also thought it would be there if he remembered installing the plumbing on the houses in my neighborhood when they were built 20 something years ago. So a lot of luck my way.
We had a kitchen slab leak 10 years ago it was a disaster and a tunneling through the kitchen. That was definitely a 1% deductible that I came out ahead on. I don't wish that on anybody

Herndon McFarland Plumbing can help you, they can give you options for repairs. Access via slab penetration will be $2,400-$3,400 and rerouting through attic may be about same depending on conditions.
Just to give you and idea of what to expect, any company that comes out for a “free inspection” most likely will not be free and more than likely will be more expensive than others. If you want to get it done cheaper, call this company, I am in no way way connected to them, just a good company that is very reasonable. I have had them work on a couple of my houses.

Plumber my sister-in-law used many many years ago for a slab leak in her old house just left. Going to reroute line through the attic on Wednesday. Very knowledgeable guy. Minimal damage to the house, mainly Sheetrock. Just want to get this over with now.
