Yep, we don't hear from a lot of Live Oak guys on this forum, but the hunting in our area is very good even by South Texas standards.

Colorado County: Weimar, TX. The quality of bucks has increased tremendously with antler restrictions over last couple years. A bunch of good 8's and a couple 10's. Just wish we had more hogs!!!

Some I have hunted that come to mind are Bandera,Uvalde,Duval,Liberty,SanAugustine,Houston,Polk
My favorite of all would be in SanAugustine Co hunting on the ground in the Angelina Natl Forrest. Some beautifull woods in there.

This will be my 5th season in Erath County and I love it. Good deer and close to the metroplex.

Grew up hunting Newton County. I didn't know what good hunting was. Now primarily Coryell County on family owned land and sometimes also hunt Edwards county on another ranch partially owned by family, Don't see huge herds, but usually do see a few decent deer on every sit. I have no trouble putting a little meat in the freezer and seeing enough game to enjoy sitting on the stand.
