Alright guys I know many of us move from place to place when our hunting leases expire. I just wanted to see where some of your favorite leases were located based on numbers and quality of game.
I'll start it off, this could be interesting...
I've only been on 3 leases so far and Brown County was the best to me. I always saw deer and we took a few good ones.

Uvalde county, lots of deer, turkeys, hogs, saw a few quail, lots of dove, but price went from 800-3000 in 8 years had to leave, couldn't afford it. Oh yeah and the dry Frio river ran through our place it was awesome.

Hunted all over the hill country, north Texas, south Texas and a little in east Texas. Currently in Refugio county and would not trade it for anything because of the quality of deer and my drive from Sugar Land is only 2 hours. Overall quality of bucks has to go to South Texas with North Texas a close second. Never did take a liking to hunting in east Texas even though I know some brutes live there.

DeWitt County, nothing like hunting at home. I do hunt mule deer in Brewster County. Throughout my life, I've hunted the South Texas Plains.

ive hunted in nacogdoches county, burnet county, llano county and fort bend county.
the place i hunted in fort bend county was by the best hunting ive ever done.
the hill country places ive hunted were the usual hill country hunting, one place wasnt very good at all.
i hunted nac county as a kid and am now currently on a lease out there, the hunting is alright. not as good as when i was a kid but we still do alright.

currently hunting Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Angelina, Medina & Edwards Co(s).... My favorite is a toss up between Nac & S.A. county. We basically have the same numbers and quality on both places, it's just great to be able to hop back and forth as to how the deer are patterned.

I have to say Jack county is my favorite. It also has to be where I saw the best deer, since I have lived here all my life, and see deer most all the time while out running around. I now hunt in Throckmorton and Clay also and have been successfull in seeing good bucks.

Check open hunting forum...Who's your neighbor... I was asking what your favorite county to ever hunt has been not necessarily where you currently hunt. LonestarCobra I'm seriously considering buying some land in Jack County one of these days if I can ever afford it.

Live Oak County. On the fringe of the famed South Texas Plains, and doesnt get alot of pressure or exposure, but we've been able to grow and harvest bucks that break 160 consistently.
I think Grosvenor and I are the only ones on here.

Gillespie county was my favorite. Tons of deer, no hogs, and the best fishing i've ever experienced.

Shackelford County- North of Albany for 16 yrs now. I havent taken a wall hanger yet, passed a few. two 140s taken out there. But the best thing is just the great memories...my son's first deer and turkey. Plenty of game and near some famous ranches.

For shear numbers Val Verde county betwwen Sonora and Loma Alta. Nothing to see 20 bucks at the feed pen. Sometimes 35 to 45 deer total.
This year in Kent county will have the biggest deer I've ever hunted, can't wait !!

LonestarCobra I'm seriously considering buying some land in Jack County one of these days if I can ever afford it. Better hurry they are pricing everybody out as fast as they can list the chit. I saw some the other day, 75 acres @ 4K an acre. You would love it though. Been in God's Country all my life.
