Box and a half or so I have my grandad's old Model 97. I generally can't hit squat but when I shoot that old blunder buster at ducks, geese, dove, quail etc I do pretty well. I say it has his karma.

I’m pretty sure all of my hunters got limits yesterday. If they didn’t it was t due to lack of birds.

A lot of birds this morning. More than yesterday. Looked like they were on the move Friday when I scouted all around Haskell county.

My theory is the number of birds seen is inversely proportional to the time I spend in the field. I think I'll start charging to not show up. Kind of like a dove cooler. Maybe I can get competing guides to pay me to go with their competition.
Glad many of you had a good first day. Hope the season holds and I really hope we get enough rain to flood all that seed on the banks of my duck holes.
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Tara didn’t even break a sweat. She is in great shape, I been taking her on “power walks” all summer. Power walks is a term I invented, that’s where I take her for a walk, and I’m on my bike. We go just as fast as she wants. She looked so sad sitting there staring at the fields when we were finished shooting.

After 9/2/24, with the rains and cooler weather; did the birds push south?

After 9/2/24, with the rains and cooler weather; did the birds push south? Hunted Stompy's place south of Breckenridge and the fields were loaded! Large groups flying in all directions. Limited out by 8:25 and I'm just an average shooter.
