Uncut version currently showing on the IFC Channel. Could be showing Gene Wilder movies today. Willie Wonka shown before Blazing Saddles.

The movie couldn't be made today and it's rarely available uncut on broadcast TV. The cut version sucks.

I concur. No sense of humor these days.

That’s a great movie.

Regal Theater in Tomball is showing Blazing Saddles on 9/15 and 9/18.

I can't wait to see it on the big screen!

Burton Gillam was a Dallas Fireman. His FD brothers told him he's so funny, he needs to be in movies. And the rest is history.

His brother retired as a Deputy Chief for Richardson, TX FD. This is a photo of him when he was still a Captain. It was probably some time in the 1980's.

A good friend of mine's brother is best friends with Burton, I got to meet him and hangout with him, he is hilarious in real life for sure. I never stopped laughing.

Mel Brooks has been quoted as saying he could never make another movie like it given today's PC environment. Keenen Wayans was able to keep his creation "In Living Color" going for several years before the PC police took over.

I think I could recite the entire script.

Blazing Saddles came out in the 70’s. I was listening to morning radio show back in the 90’s and Burton called in (they were having people call in and quote their favorite movie lines). They were surprised when he called in to quote a line from Blazing Saddles cause he was the one who actually said it. During the conversation, he said he had just moved back to Texas (Allen) from LA so that his kids could attend school here rather than out there.

IDK. The good comedies still push the envelope. Tropic Thunder comes to mind.

Brooks', History of the World pushed boundaries in early 80s as did The Three Amigos in mid 80s. All good stuff.
