The THF isn't the same without Oxner. I do find the gun control thing to be odd. As vocal as he was on here I don't know that I ever saw him advocate for gun control. I feel like that is completely out of character. But what do I know. He'll be missed either way. Bite me.

RIP Bill.

The Sandy Hook Promise is a staunch gun control group. I read every word he wrote on here and never saw anything like that.

RIP Bill

History is made by those who write it. His daughter was a law professor, it is quite possible the obit parts about gun control were her way of changing the narrative she had about her dad and his crazy hinting buddies online, to something she was more into.

It is possible we didn’t see the real oxner on here as well.

It is also possible the daughter just projects a lot and wants the world to know her plight in life. I found it very weird she brought up his diagnosis of autism spectrum (who really cares?) and her diagnosis of ehlers danlos, and how they had to move due to healthcare for that…ehlers danlos is not a disease that requires specialized treatment in CA. It can be managed anywherr but there is no specific treatment to he done.

I thought the same about the disease and moving to a specific place. I may pre write my obituary to prevent any specific narrative.

Anyone that did not know Bill was a gun hippie did not pay attention. He said multiple times on this very forum that anything over a single shot was not needed.

As for the rest of that mumbling. His daughter was clearly an only child

RIP, Mr. Oxner.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Oh man so sorry to hear this. He was a straight shooter, stand up guy. Been to his house a couple times to help with getting a light working on his little dock by pond out back. Got some pecan wood from a tree that fell after a bad storm. He handed me his '69 Remington semi auto 20ga and said its yours.
RIP Bill, you will be missed by many.

Gave you a Remington semi automatic 20 gauge. That’s a classy move!

I was pretty shocked, but he insisted on me taking it. This was probably 9 or 10 years ago.

Bill loved Gene Hill. Now you can go after those birds again, Bill.

A hunting camp is one of the few places left to us where we can dream of a near-perfect tomorrow. Where the harsh realities of lost riches and faded glories can be forgotten and the dreams of what might be come down to a delightful day with not too much wind, a crisp morning silvered with frost, and find us—at long last—with the right gun, shells, dogs and friends who will be pleased forever to remember the day we “did it all.”

-Gene Hill
