Hungry cattle are the worst. They will eat feed right off your truck. Expect mice to infiltrate your camper as well. I once had a basement model 5th wheel with heating ducts below. Once they got in there you couldn't turn the heat on without gagging. I never figured out a way to get rid of them. Lots of ideas on how to keep them out, but none worked for me. Converted containers are mice and snake proof.

My experience, you don't have to leave anything long before cattle start wrecking it. I have had one chew on the seat of my Mule while I was working and not paying attention. Was dove hunting a couple of years ago and left decoys spinning in pasture while I ran back to the house for 10 minutes. Came back to find 2 of my mojos had become appetizers. Cows are a terrible combination of curious and stupid.

My wife had hung flower curtains in our camper. Cows went through the screens and glass to eat them.

I’m wondering how the heck they’re getting 30 head of cattle on a 160 acres???😳
Yeah, my cattle can be tough on vehicles and campers, especially since I have two longhorn steers with 10’ wingspans! Maybe cause it ain't West Texas.

What a cow can't tear up they'll chew up. They really love pop-up blinds, they ate 6 in one year. Had one chew the coil wire off a running Ajax motor, that had to have knocked the hell out of her. If the supply store drops off a set of belts for a pump jack, you have to make sure they put them up high or inside the guard.

Right. 3 acres per cow/calf is playing it pretty safe in my area. I sold a place up by college station. Improved grass property with 9 separate pastures. Stocking rate was 1 cow to 3 acres. Couldn’t believe it. Where I’m from it’s 1 cow to 30 acres in a good year

Some of the best I've got is wherever I've put down gravel. Cattle can be in belly high grass and laying down in it. They've had all they can stand for the moment.

Why? West Texas and panhandle have stouter grass. Daily Gain is almost always higher out west than east Texas. Difference is east Texas has longer growth season and higher tonnage out put. Typically higher your rain fall less nutrient rich your soil/grass. Think of east Texas like iceberg lettuce and west Texas like spinach Northern part of STX is same way. Webb county averages 20 inches a rain a year and has really stout grass

My wife had hung flower curtains in our camper. Cows went through the screens and glass to eat them. About 50 years ago when i was a youngin my cousin and i spent the day fishing on the river that ran through their farm. Caught a whack of crappie and were feeling proud of ourselves. Decided to leave the boat on shore instead of dragging it back. Well next morning the boat was a write off - cattle chewed the paint off it and stomped all over it. Maddest i have ever seen my uncle. Old buggers still alive at 91 but haven't seen him since his 80th birthday

With almost 10 inches of rain in the last 3 days the winter forbs will explode. Weed ranches is what the old guys called them.

I do have a lot of grass though in range land and especially CRP. I’m required to either graze or bail my CRP with in the contract period. On those years it’s enlightening to see the gain on all you can eat native buffet, but it’s a short season compare ably to Eastern part of state

Yes. If cattle can't eat it, shi-- on it or screw it they'll tear it up. I finally bit the bullet and went with a Conex with a bunk room built out on one end.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
