Have a 2020 Silverado Z71 Crew with the BabyMax. Just turned 60,000 miles this morning on the way to work. I tow a bass boat a lot, and my lifetime fuel mileage is 19.8 MPG. Love the engine, but did have the transmission take a dump back in January. Was repaired under warranty. I’ll probably drive it until the warranty is about up and evaluate then. Love the torque and how it pulls my boat. The only other truck I’ve had that pulled this good was a F250 PowerStroke.

I'm think about going after the AT4 with the 3.0 diesel.

Still love mine, does seem to drink the DEF though. Gas mileage is fantastic. No issues so far through 71,000 miles.

What are the 1500s rated to tow with this motor? Looking for occasional 20' gooseneck usage, short tows, medium-to-highway speeds.

Big reason I didn't buy one Mine tows a Bass Boat likes it not even there and max's out near 13K pounds. I personally think North of about 10K pounds you need more truck. I have seen mid 40MPG on road trips and commonly see 18-20 city and 24 plus highway in fast lane not babying it at all. The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 trim level with the 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel engine has a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds. The 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel engine comes standard on the AT4 trim level and has 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque.

Wow they must have gotten a lot stouter. The previous models had a real low tow rating.

Man, I'm worse than a woman..... I'm gonna go with the V8, because I can get one hell of a deal. I'll know tomorrow morning.
GasGuzzler would be proud.

GasGuzzler would be proud. A gm v-8? In a half ton? Man at least with the diesel you get the upside of good mileage. Haven’t trusted gm’s v8’s since they added the dang cylinder deactivation.

Yeah, but I got 11k off MSRP. That can buy a lot of fuel. I couldn't pass that up. I'm currently getting 12MPG in my 2500HD

It's been a great truck.
