I've found several things lately that I wanted but the sellers' communication was extremely poor or non-existent. PITA and not worth it.

OK, so maybe I shouldnt have said "100%" scam about the "is it still available", but Im pretty sure most would agree to proceed with caution.

I've got a guy coming right now to buy a bin of antler sheds that are just taking up space in my garage. Posted last night and should have cash in hand by noon.

I've had good luck selling old/excess items on Facebook. Stuff like a walk-behind mower, cameras, boat seat, two jet ski lifts, an old table saw, etc Generally in the $100 to $300 range, except my forklift for $11K.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

I’ll have some kitchen appliances and other stuff for sale when the remodel is completed. Was thinking about doing a yard sale, but I’ll try ND first then FB.

Buying and selling local on Marketplace in the country vs the Metroplex are different experiences.

Been shopping for an extra vehicle. Seems 95% or more of the ads are in Spanish.

Dealt with 150 tire kickers before a fella in Ponder was interested in a ranch hand bumper. It was a total beat down.

Anyone who has anything in Spanish that’s local to me I just block them even if it’s not anything I’m interested in. After a while they are largely gone.

Now there are so many different types of scams on there, plus there are obviously a lot more folks camped out on there (re-sellers) waiting for a deal to pop up, you have to come across the deal within the first few minutes of being published or it is snatched up, selling stuff no problem, buying is the challenge.

True...but join a selling group and get notifications when something is listed. There's a buy/sell/trade one for Cooke County I'm watching.

Pass the gravy.

Sold a few vehicles through there. A couple were pretty desirable and it’s challenging to wade through the BS, but all three I got extremely fair cash sales and in a timely manner

My gal about to list my 06 Tundra on there. When she does furniture there’s some type “groups” she has to join. She’s gonna have to research auto for sale groups she thinks. She thinks she can figure it out but anybody got insight on that stuff??

You don’t have to join any groups to list anything. Just give a very detailed description with plenty of pictures and even video. Then post it. You have the option of including it to groups, but that is not necessary.

Just my opinion, but why don’t you just list it yourself instead of your “gal”? she’s going to have to answer all the questions that people have. Just seems like an extra middleman burden.

Free, if it’s 4x4 you should list it on THF classifieds. It would probably sell pretty quick, and at least it would be a better group to deal with.

I dont do Facebook or I wouldn’t bother her. She actually kinda likes piddling with stuff like that which is not like her.
Thanks for the advice on the groups.

Thanks 68. Thought about listing here but it’s in Tyler and didn’t figure a large local group to pull from. Not excited about a long distance tire kicking negotiation.
But it is 4x4 and priced right for a hunting truck. I almost never sell anything so trying to avoid the process.

Joining a group helps you buy easier than sell. To sell you want the biggest audience there is. When I mentioned the Cooke County Buy/Sell/Trade we were talking about how people snatch up the good deals quickly for re-sale. To do THAT you need to be on a group. Please DO NOT let someone else go through the hell of listing your vehicle. Sell it here through your account so you can field all the questions.

Pass the gravy.

My wife uses FB to sell some things. She'll use the local PD parking lot as a meeting place. You find out real fast if it's a scam or not. I've bought and sold guns on this platform and have never been disappointed. We usually sit and chat for awhile, like with an old friend.
