Curious if anyone has any recommendations on which ones to get. Going to be using them at night while spot stalking hogs with a thermal. Would y'all recommend 3 legs or one leg? Need something light weight that would be easy to mess with in the dark.

I’d recommend 3 legs for standing sticks. I’ve used Bog and Primos Trigger sticks on several hunts. Mostly the outfitters I’ve used had Bog. Below is a good model at an affordable price. Just adjust the legs for the height you prefer and they are easy to deploy when your are ready to shoot. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1020679480?pid=669581

I use a 1/2 pvc cut to fit with a sideways T fitting wrapped in soft tape . Cheap , so if you do lose it no biggie . Can be used as a walking stick in the dark . Plus if you find your dead pig you can poke it with a stick !!

For stationary shooting, I'd recommend the death grip. But if you're going to be moving around, I like the others recommend the tripod trigger sticks.

I've used a number of different tripod style shooting sticks, both aluminum and carbon fiber. The carbon fiber ones are pretty good, especially if you get a ball head with an ARCA rail on it. However, even they get heavy and you'll either have to learn to attach the ARCA rail to your rifle in the dark or carry the rifle already attached to the tripod. Best used when you're just watching a field or hunting stationary. For stalking i much prefer something like a Bog Adrenaline Switcheroo Tripod. Fairly lightweight, extremely easy to setup too. Use these almost every weekend over my much more expensive carbon fiber tripod.
edit: I don't care for the newer version of the trigger sticks. While they are very easy to setup and adjust, the handle/rest is tall and is wobbly. They are not as stable as the Bog tripods.

I’ve made a lot of them out of 8 ft long 1 by lumber. Cut in half, put a screw and wing nut about 3 inches down, staple carpet around the top, notch the bottoms and you’re good to go.

Go to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army store and see if they have any camera tripods. I got a perfect lightweight one from a Goodwill store for $6 that converted into a great shooting tripod.

<200yards two leg Bog Adrenaline bipod with quick attach arca
Over that you need as heavy of tripod as you can use with arca ball head, reaper, bog death etc.(I have all three)

I use 2 - 42" pieces of conduit I had left over from my shop build. Drilled a hole 4" from the top of each and inserted a small bolt to hold together. I wrapped the area where my rifle sits with electrical tape and cut the bottom of the sticks at an angle so they will dig into the ground. They have worked for me many years.

Three lengths of bamboo and some bike tire inner tube. I have shot off several versions of those in Zimbabwe. Not bamboo, but some other stick. Some great...some not so great. It's an art that not everyone has the skill for.

One leg is better than nothing, but in no way would I recommend it. The more points of contact for stability the better - two legs is better than one, and three legs is better than two.
I like the trigger sticks best because of their versatility. You can deploy them on the side of a hill, or on uneven terrain, or for standing/sitting/kneeling, etc. Of course most tripods can be adjusted, but how quickly, how quietly, and can you do it with one hand in the dark?

if youre not going to be moving a great distance, I agree with what everyone has already said... a sturdy tripod like a Bog Pod Death Grip.. or something better is a really good option.. if youre thinking youre going to be moving around a lot and need something to throw up quickly once you find a target, and something thats light and easy to haul around, just look for the lightest set of sticks you can find that offer reasonable sturdiness.. I definitely prefer 3 leg systems, but have used both 2 and 4 leg systems also.. each have their own advantages and disadvantages... my shooting sticks are just a basic set of Cabelas branded sticks... I think I paid about $65 for them probably 5-6 years ago... theyre still working great... now theyre about $80.. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/cabelas-tripod-shooting-rest For a more stable rest, when appropriate, I use a Bog Pod Death Grip (aluminum).. I also have a death grip head set up on a mini tripod that I sometimes use inside my blind (although most of the time I just shoot off my pack, laid across my bench)... https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/bog-deathgrip-aluminum-shooting-tripod-in-fde

These aren't cheap, but nothing involved with thermal hunting is. I use these for stalking pigs. Your gun clamps into it with a picatinny rail and it will stay put so you can just throw it over your shoulder and go. It is very light weight compared to my other 2 friends' tripods and theirs are even more expensive. I am very happy with mine. https://leofotooutdoors.com/collect...head-set-sa-x-3-8?variant=42168176738487
