Lucky little punk. We had some catfish rods out with whole bluegills. I ran off to use the facilities and when I got back he was holding that fish. Used to whack them on the Devil's every summer when I was a kid. Lots of fight per lb and a ton of fun to catch.

Lake record is 6.11, might have been interesting! A buddy at work wondered if it would have broken the youth record on Grapevine. I didn't even bring a stringer. We were fishing to pass the time more than anything.

Or next time know there are catch and release lake records by length too. A picture with a tape measure and let it go, then submit the picture with the application. Currently 22.50 inch for Smallmouth. Same as the weight record. The current record holdler must have had a scale and released it. The Catch and Release Flathead on there is mine BTW.
