As an elementary principal here is what they should know (which is what they should learn in Pre K):

How to write their name

Entire ABCs

Count to 20

Colors

Shapes: Square, Triangle, Rectangle, Circle, Oval

The first semester of Pre K is pretty much learning how to go to school, 2nd semester is when we ramp up academics.

Coach, I really appreciate your input. They got that but did Montessori because we could not get them in pre K. Ellie's favorite shape is diamonds though and you left that out and that was a funny conversation with a 5 yo female that has no clue what a diamond actually is.

If they truly followed Montessori they will be light years ahead. Mine both went and I couldn't believe what they were doing when they left.
