Was up $140K since Nov.1 2023. In the last 2 weeks not including today I have lost back $35-40K. I moved it to a moderate fund and will see what happens with it there. Hopefully I don't lose all that I gained in that time.

I expected the DOW to retreat at some point. The only hard part is picking where it would retreat. Considered moving serious money to cash, but decided against it. I’m in and staying in

He won't be selected. Freedom Seeds is what you should be buying, they'll be hard to come by in the not-too-distant future.

I was expecting a call today from my guy at Wells Fargo about a chunk that is maturing this month and will need to get moved into something else. Nope, crickets. I think he's either confused, scared or so busy answering his phone and putting out fires that he never got around to calling. Oh well, I've got a couple of weeks before I have to do something.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Wife received an inheritance consisting of a brokerage account. First met with them a couple of months ago. They wanted us to let them work the account for the best results before we cashed out. They did the deal last week. I’d say it was perfect timing!

I was in the investment business for over 40 years. First off nobody but nobody can consistently time the market perfectly. It is always a moving target that is impossible to totally time on a long term basis.
The other thing folks overlook is this - if you are more than five years out from retirement then stay in the market and ride it out - history shows that it will eventually rally back and provide good returns.
On the other hand if you are within five years of retirement and/or in retirement then you should have your exposure to the market scaled back. I am not saying stay out of the market but your exposure should less than it was while you were in the accumulation phase. The reason being that if you are fully in the market and close to or into retirement is that you most likely are drawing out some of your money for income. If the market tanks but you have to continue pulling money out it is a double whammy and will take way longer to recoup your losses.

I’ve got a CD about to mature in a couple of months. Maybe the interest rate will go up before that.

There has been 25 year periods where the DOW aint moved.1 or 2 points up was a huge day. If we are under 50 years of age we will witness the end of the DOW etc...

It was below zero just a few short years ago. Yes but I've yet to run into a producer who sold during that time. I had all my battery's full and my test tanks, only thing we sold during that little Saudi, Russia squabble was gas. We didn't sell any oil for a month and a half. Good thing about oil and gas is, it's not going anywhere.

Good thing about oil and gas is, it's not going anywhere. Nat gas below 2 makes me sad. I really could have gotten used to it when it was 9. Easy come, easy go. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
