I was given a green long sleeve pair as a freshman in college.

My dad wore his "jump suits" all the time after he retired. It gets pretty hot and muggy in Kerrville, but he still wore them and sweated like a large pig. He passed many years ago, and his vast collection of jump suits made a visit to the Good WIll store!

So confused here…is this worn on the golf course or just around the house while you reminisce about the “good old days”?

Not for golf. My granddad was a machinist and he wore these things everywhere including in his machine shop. For cold weather hunting though it was Walls Blizzard Pruf.

Must be a yankee name for a jump suit. Never heard of putter suit and golf is not gay. A few of my great uncles from the WWII generation wore jump suits but not with high water bell bottom hems. My PaPa wore overalls instead of what is pictured.

Pass the gravy.

Never wore the short sleeve jumpsuits. The generation of men I knew that wore them have all passed away. I used to like wearing nomex coveralls fighting wildfires. I still like to wear Carhart coveralls in really cold weather.

I voted No but then I remembered that early in my career I had to work on some controls in high voltage areas and we wore flash suits that looked like that except they were long sleeves. That was 40+ years ago but I think they were made from Nomex or something like that.

When I went to work at Eastman Kodak in the mid 70's there were several Old Men in the Machine Shop that wore them. I didn't know what they were called, but I didn't want to own any or wear them. Coveralls were a big enough change from Tee Shirts and Blue Jeans.

I have several pairs of regular short sleeve coveralls
I originally bought to wear when shredding to keep from
getting debris like bullnettles and such down my butt
crack, and to wear when scooting around on the ground
underneath a truck or tractor etc.
I wear em fairly often these days when my spot on my
crotch area hurts where the overenthusiastic surgeon
sliced me open to access the big artery to run that
cable/camera doo dad up to my heart.
Every now and then it hurts pretty good and try to wear
blue jeans and a belt gets pretty painful sometimes.

Wore lightweight cammo coveralls when bowhunting
from the climbing stands I had. Way less binding than
a shirt and britches and easier to get turned around ( for me)

My grandfather lived in those, never saw the man in anything else my entire life.

You have to remember, they might not be drinking as much as we are.

Look like what you wear on a submarine when at sea. Polyester or something, basically because cotton clothing leaves lint which clogs the air filters. Air is pretty important on a submarine.

I discovered a pair of Dickies lightweight short sleeve coveralls in the closet a while back. I bet they are over twenty years old. To do some weed-eating I wore those with the cuffs over some light rubber boots. That actually worked quite well. I was able to shed those without dirt and grass from neck to toe and still do other yard work. I'm in the country where nobody could see me. grin
