Stay safe, sounds like power outages is a very common, Houston station hour or so ago said 533,000+ power outages at that time.

It seems my employees in Houston proper do not have cell service. Checking on them and everything is going to VM.

I’m 130 miles north of the coast. We just lost power. Last I heard there are already over 2 million without power.

Seems like this thing moved through fast. We were in a VRBO at Pointe West on the south end of Galveston Island all of last week. We bailed Saturday AM and were issued a refund for the Saturday night stay. Got word today we were the last family to enjoy the benefit of a roof on that house. Owner said this is why he has insurance.

It went right over me, it was pretty weird being in the eye, windy and rainy for hours to a weird calmness and then to not too heavy winds and rain again.

Back in ‘83 I drove from Sherman to Houston the morning Hurricane Alecia came ashore. It went north up I45, as I was driving South on I45. I drove right through the eye. It was hellacious storm, then the clear blue sky in the eye. Then more heavy storm after leaving the eye.

San Jacinto and Polk counties have no power. Approximately 70% outage in Trinity county. Lots of down trees on the power lines. Hope we get it back today but I won’t be surprised if it takes a few days. Last count I heard is 7 dead. Even a Cat 1 hurricane is no joke. Nothing at my place is tore up. Have enough generator power to run the fridge, freezer, a couple window units, and satellite TV. Stove is gas so Mrs Smokey’s kitchen is functional.

OK, I haven't been watching a lot of news lately, so I guessed I missed something. Where is Abbott? All the press conferences I have seen over the past couple of days were with acting Governor Patrick. Is Abbott out for some reason?
Thanks, Rich
