Had a great supper just now. Brisket and sausage, beans, okra, mashed taters, and corn on the cob. Everybody gnaws the corn off the cob differently. I start on the left and go in a round the cob manner till I get to the other end. Most folks start on one end or the other and make a mess of it. The grandson’s GF started in the middle of the cob and ate in a random fashion left and right. Never saw anyone start in the middle.

What about you uncouth folk? How do you eat corn on the cob, those of you with teeth anyway. grin

Eat around both ends of the cob first so I have something to hold on to.

I start on the left (would be the top of the corn when it's being grown) and work on a single row to the end like an old typewriter. I then go back to the left and work my way back to the right...like a normal person. Your grandson needs to dump that girl and find someone sane.

If she’s hot, how she eats her corn isn’t important.

Left to right, top to bottom. Typewriter style just like the Mickey Mouse cartoons back in the day.

I’m left to right for sure. Top of cob to bottom like mentioned above. Where I differ is typewriter mode. I stay in place and rotate, taking the entire section. One band at a time. And just keep moving on while it’s hot. Rarely set it down to manage other things like steak or beans.

Left to right line at a time but recent years, I cut it off and eat it in a pile with lots of butter and pepper.

I can tell you for a fact that this 6.5CM shooter just cuts it off the cob with a knife. It seems the pigs usually eat it off the cob.

Would have never thought about it….. but leave it up to 603 to keep it interesting. I’m also a start in the middle weirdo. Thanks for making me realize it.

When you get all the way to the right, do you then gnaw right to left? Or do you do like a real typewriter with a hard return back to the left?

Eat both ends all the way around so that I have something to hold on to, then typewriter left to right. I'm gonna have to do corn on the cob this week just to see what everyone else in my family does. I've never paid attention to that.

Dripping in butter. Left to right, then right to left, and I pretty much keep munching until it’s all gone. Breathing loudly through the nose, sometimes draws unwanted attantion. I can’t help it, I don’t even think about it. Corn on the cob is fan freaking tastic.
