Not a big fan of saltgrass, but they have a pretty good CFS and the range rattlers are to die for.

The BEST I have had is making my own starting with Pork Tenderloin!! GAWD its good Yeh buddy! Take a pork loin off a big boar hog that nobody wants to mess with, steak & butterfly, give it a little love with a mallet (but keep it kinda thick), brine it for 2-3 hrs/rinse/dry/season with Fremin's Magic Dust/bread & fry with some peppered cream gravy on top and SON!! Not exactly a chicken fried steak but sho is good, and NOBODY will know it's from an old wild boar hog if you don't tell them.

I may have already said this, but the CF at the Golinda Country Store is the best I ever had. Just south of Waco on 77. And big.

Chili con queso on the cfs. I personally didn’t have any, but I heard it was awesome! Beautiful. Like the cowboy cut CFS from Matt's El Rancho in Austin. Diamondback's in Waco (pricey) has a great chicken fried venison.

Can't remember the name of the diner in Briad TX. The chicken fried steak filled the entire plate and was excellent! All the sides were in bowls.
Distance is not the issue, but the winds can make it interesting!

The wife had the chicken fajita salad with diced tomatoes with jalapeno ranch dressing. She said it was excellent. We usually eat there twice a month when we're running back and forth to Weatherford or Ft. Worth.

I had a CFS from Crow's in Anna a couple of weeks ago. It's one of the best I've had in a long time.
