Not sure what your idea of a work boot is. These red wings are real work boots though. Not much ankle support but you specified no lace up. If worn daily there will be a 2-3 week break in period. Once broke in they are pretty good. PecosEdit to add: link didn’t work. This one. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/06/full-62286-423879-img_4894.png)

Thoughrogood fan here too. Also, those Twisted-X soft toe lace ups look good. They remind me of a pair of Chippewa lace-ups I bought in 1977 at Grant and Ilsengs in Houston.
I have a SUPER wide foot and need a BIG toe box.

I have a pair of Justin steel toe slip ons that are that are 20 years old and I still wear them whenever I’m cutting trees or splitting firewood. Anywhere that something heavy or sharp could fall on my toes

I used to say Red Wing but the last two pair I had fell apart after a couple of months. I am wearing Timberland now and having no problems.

My new Wolverine work boots, which I could easily put on at first, are getting tough to pull on. This isn’t good. Any suggestions to ease the effort to put them on? Talcum powder? Very comfortable when I do finally drag them on.

^ soak them in a tub of water then put them on, wear them around until dry
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan

Wore the soles off a pair of Ariat Workhogs and sent them back to Ariat for a rebuild. They were the most comfortable boot I’ve worn. Spent a lot of years on concrete plant floors and inside refineries. Actually preferred those boots to tennis shoes.

For more than 20 years, I wore the Bate's side zip tactical boots. quick on and off, and can wear them all day long. Retired now and still wear them all the time.

I used to wear Ariat work boots. Switched to Cody James and they last longer and are more comfortable than the Ariats.

The Ariat WorkHog Carbon toe waterproof boots are very good for the money IMO. Another vote for this...as well as the Turbo model.

I have been wearing Redwing1155's since high school so about 30 years and always loved them. I am in transportation and they are comfortable enough to stand in and tough enough your feet don't get beat up moving freight around. Also, keep them oiled up and wear to Church on Sundays.
However, last pair I bought 2 years ago have never seemed to break in and hurt my feet. Might have something to do with the big bunion or whatever is going on with my big toe but I don't wear them near as much as I used to.
My work shoes these days are mainly Columbia hikers or Chaco sandals.

The Wolverines that I was having trouble pulling on to my feet worked fine for about a week. Then they got very difficult to get on. And yesterday the heel structure on the right boot collapsed. Not the heel itself, but the upper part that surrounds your heel. It won’t uncollapse. I could not put on the right boot. Took them back for a refund. Found some good comfortable boots at Tractor Supply. Ridgeline Ranch boots I think. Nice looking too…
I hate boot shopping. Maybe these will last.

I wear a Justin Gacho's, you have to order on-line most stores don't carry them. I get a year out of a pair, but there worn daily. First thing I do is replace the boot liner with an after market one for better cushion. When I take them off for the day I pull the liners out so the boot can dry on the inside. Boots rot from the inside out due to sweat.
