Obviously Schloss wasn't going to say he was leaving last night after the loss, but he should have been more vague rather than berating that reporter for asking the question. It's also pretty clear that this deal was in place for a while now. All of this just didn't materialize today.
Texas could have locked him up 3 years ago for about half the price, but at any rate, Texas now has one of the best coaches in the country. And for this particular job, he is likely the best man for the job. He didn't lie.....

Wow Texas follows the Aggies to the SEC and now they hire their coach. Follows after making millions from ESPN, and then punks a&m for their coach. If you've got it like that, why not?

Texas hired Vic Schaefer and find themselves still waiting for him to win his first national championship. And how many football coaches have they been through since their last football championship? Obviously, you can blame another coach for taking their money on nothing more than a promise. I'm not here to get into the weeds with you on women's basketball, but Vic Schaefer has taken Texas to the Elite 8 in the 3 of the last 4 seasons. That's a pretty good indicator of a strong program. And perhaps you were too busy drowning your sorrows after last year's Egg Bowl, but Sark and Texas had 3 excellent chances to win the Semi-final against Washington to play Michigan for the National Championship, so football appears to be on solid footing, as well.

This where loyalty, or lack of, starts. What type of example is this to the student athletes? No wonder so many are ready to hit the portal at the drop of a hat. If it’s ok for the coach, it’s ok for them also.

Probably had some effect on the players during the series, after the news started leaking.

First off I went to Oklahoma State so I’m not an Aggie. This is a pretty damn creepy move though. Even for UT… the optic is this: There are no boundaries to what UT will stoop to in order to try an catch up to A&M. UT is one slimy school.

But there is no way this wasn’t orchestrated days, or weeks, ago. And for both del Conte and Schlossnagle to do this, says a lot about their character. I’m sure this gives Texas a great chance to return to their great baseball days….but the Aggies thought Jimbo would take the to the promised land. This was not the way men with character would have handled this.

All the rumors had to have an influence on the players in game 3. I concur with Smokey. If you can’t beat ‘em, then buy their coach.
