I've used JB Weld with a fabric layered in with excellent results. By itself there are limited uses by itself but when it falls within those uses it is da bomb !

I bought a SeaArk welded hull jon boat 20 or so years ago and got a heck of a deal on it. Caught a lot of fish and killed thousands of dux outta that thing. About year 5 of owning it I noticed a bit of water in the boat after a hunt. It turns out the guy I bought it from had clearly plowed a stump, patched the crack with JB weld, and painted over it. It was mid season and I wanted to just patch it to get by so I did the same. It held another 7 years before it finally started cracking up and I didn't even prep it. Ended up getting a guy to weld that up and put a fender back on the trailer for $100.
I wonder if the previous owner sank that boat. Took the motor to the shop and patched things up. Either way the boat and the JB worked out good for me. When I went to sell it the first thing I did was tell the perspective buyer all about it.

I tried to use it per directions and didn’t hold for crap. Fell over and broke the ring on top now annd bottom has no support ( JB weld broke) Anyone with a welder that lives close to Arlington that can help me out. This has a special meaning to my wife and I. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/06/full-636-423716-img_4041.jpeg) Thank you. Yes, there is a reason you are in sales. ![roflmao roflmao](/forum/images/graemlins/default/roflmao.gif)

JB Weld is good stuff for the right spot. No rust or oil and plenty of contact area. Welding is the right answer for your job.
This reminds me of what my son and his friends once did. They shot a basketball with a BB gun and tried to patch the hole with masking tape. Big fail.

Free would have used duct tape, covered up the repair with the rock and no one would know.

This would be a good excuse to buy a mini stick welder. They run on household current and are only about 75 bucks for everything you need to get started. I have heard good things about them from a few folks. They are tiny but apparently actually work pretty well.

Mail that little part to me. I will mail it back.
It'll be in transit far more time than it requires to fix it.

Superduty, did you find someone to weld it for you? I was in Frisco today…gonna be in Garland and Plano tomorrow. You should have dropped it off to me when you were in Frisco. Or mailed to JG. PM me next time you are going to be out this way. I was serious when I said I'd fix it for 'ya.

I have the welding stuff but rarely need it. On small household stuff I mix up some epoxy. On tricky stuff I use the cloth with the glues.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

I might do that, we might have a foundation leak in house( kitchen) filed an insurance claim so this has taken a back seat, we have a lot of water damage. Plus my neck is killing from that wreck that I had last week. Thank you.
