The downtown web cam shows lots of smoke and very, very few vehicles. This time of year it usually is a very busy place with lots of people driving and walking.

I have family with a cabin there and the fire is very close, they shut power off yesterday so no security cameras. Also a buddy of mine bought a cabin there 2 years ago, I need to call and check on him.

Hopefully folks have insurance.

There's red level warnings here in Colorado. It has been very windy. We have a plan for various levels of fast departure.

We have a one-man office there. He and his wife were evacuated last night. Heat signature maps indicate that the office is crispy IF it is still there. They think their house is OK for now.

Sounds like it is still zero percent contained. Fortunately there are good chances of rain starting tomorrow and everyday for at least a week.

Terrible news. A good college buddy has a business there, and he's hearing fire bug/arson from the Mescalero. He's out by airport so he's OK for now.

The wife heard from her boss today. He said it doesn't look good for him, and it's going to take a miracle for him to be spared. That was going to be his retirement spot..... He retires at the end of the year. Sucks.

They just threw a DC-10 and a C130 at it. They are going to get more in ABQ for more water and will hopefully run into the night killing this.

I do not know but the DC 10 came from Texas lubbockish and has landed and I cannot pull him back up. Lead 23 which was a private hawker jet guiding landed at alamagordo. The small tankers are going to ABQ. I say small but they have 4 turbines just not a dc10.

That is what flightradar shows, for what it is worth. There is a 130 coming out of ABQ but think he has sensors and not water.
