What do y'all usually get to eat when you are there?

Was up in Denton this am and decided to finally give their food a try, Was conflicted on whether to get a breakfast biscuit sandwich, burrito or a taco confused2

Ended up getting the Hippo Taco which is a bacon egg, bean, potato, and cheese breakfast taco and supposedly Green Sauce which I did not see or taste.
My review: It was good but just okay good. The eggs texture were like they were whipped which I do not care for, the rest of the ingredients just all meshed/mushed together so there was no single distinguishing thing that made you grin while eating it. Will not eat that particular one again but willing to try other ones.

The breakfast biscuits looked really good, maybe next time.

While driving out glanced over at the gas prices and $ 2.65 a gallon banana2 whipped up next to a pump and it showed $2.85 a gallon scratch
Looked back over at the sign again and read the catch below the price. When ahead and gassed it up.

I love their kettle-cooked chips and the BBQ sandwich. The regular sandwich is big enough, I mistakenly bought the larger one last time and it had a ton of brisket on it.

I am rarely near a Buccees for breakfast. When I am I just get a breakfast burrito like you got. FYI, they have extra green sauce off to the side in little plastic cups. I always grab one or two. For lunch or dinner, my go to is the chicken fajita burrito or the Texas Cheeseteak burrito.

Still waiting on the Boerne one to be built. I would bet $ that the city and/or county blows it. The QT in Comfort has been discovered. Coming through there last Saturday, 2/3 of the pumps had bags on them. 'Hope they increase their fuel deliveries.

I always get the brisket sanwhich. It's actually not bad. I tried the house made chips and I would pass on those. They were cold and not very good. The pulled pork sandwhich isn't bad either.

The last time I stopped I noticed how many people leave their cars parked at the pump and then go into shop. The pumps are usually full in Melissa where I stop. It just seems really rude to do that. One couple went in when I did and didn't come out until I was almost finished eating. Had to take 20 minutes at least. Folks were waiting for pumps to open up. People are so entitled these days.

Yep, one of my peeves.....but that's a lot of people these days. They only care about themselves. Get your fuel and move your arse, park & go inside.

This is everywhere now. People check and answer emails and literally eat their entire lunch while sitting in the car at the pump. It's a sad little power play. Some people are desperate for little victories. Or, they're just too dam stupid to realize what they're doing. If the pumps are deserted, yes, I'll run in to take a leak without moving the truck. If it's busy, I move to the parking area. It's a matter of class.

I grew up in San Antonio. Petty little games to block your way, make you wait, slow you down are a cultural thing. Come shop with us during Holy Week. realmad

The Wharton and Waller locations are the only ones I am willing to stop at anytime of the day. Yes, they do get busy but it's more often than not at those locations, unlike the others such as Luling.

Stub, they are proud of their food, probably $4.99-5.99 for that burrito you had, standard one are $3.99 and not large. Since I stop there in Ft Worth nearly every morning I roll out to Young Co. in deer season, I've started getting the egg, sausage biscuit instead and putting green Chile sauce on it. Like Skinner, the chopped brisket lunch sandwich is good but about $9.99/10.99 just for it.

I usually get a brisket taco or a boudin kolache if I’m in New Braunfels at that time. We are getting Bucees here, thank goodness it’s gonna be on the opposite end of town.

That was actually a breakfast taco and was $4.99, the burrito I think were $7.99. What I found interesting was all of the same type tacos were different in size, like whoever was making them was not using a measuring device for the amount of food they were putting in them. Yes I got the fattest one I could find grin

Next time I will probably try the breakfast biscuit sammich up

BBQ Sammich and Kettle chips are obviously a favorite, another will have to give it a go.

Been once and it was recently (same location). I got the brisket and egg breakfast burrito. Fabulous!

Pass the gravy.

Ever been in a Buc-ees at 3 or 4 am? Totally different crowd. Probably some of the Walmart people - the more unwashed of them.

The wife and I flew into Houston Interplanetary Airport on a much delayed flight. Starving! Nothing open anywhere, so we just headed up 45 toward home. Stopped at Bud-ees at maybe 3 am, happy that they were open. The customers were not the daytime bunch. But, the sandwich was wonderful.

Their jalapeño cheddar biscuit kolache is by far the best breakfast item. Don’t get it confused with a jalapeño and cheese kolache. Need to get the kolache made with a biscuit exterior.

I enjoy the concept....clean restrooms, decent fountain drinks and good snacks. Parking is always a circus, prices are ridiculous and most prepared food is just OK. My kids think it's awesome as Dad departs with a Benjamin every time.

Was in the Buc-ees at Madisonville yesterday. Gas prices were high relative to other stations. Being able to get to a gas pump was tough. Like someone said earlier, people get gas and then shop and leave the car at the pump. Thoughtless. Personally, I’d skip the place just to avoid the crowd, but those clean bathrooms are the attraction for women like my wife. That and the chocolate covered raisins.

One good thing about Buc-ees is that those clean bathrooms have caused the other stations to raise their bathroom game.

Wish you could tag people in these threads, as TEXASLEFTY would be along in a few minutes to tell you that the bathroom, food, and not much else matters as it all begins and ends with how good their washer fluid is at getting bugs off and how well the scrubber and squeegee work!
