It could be pitching coach, Max Weiner, that Texas offers the HC job to. Risky given that he doesn't have head coaching experience. But Hell, the Lakers hired JJ Redick whose only coaching experience was for his son's 4th grade team.

I don't know what baseball coaches get paid but a heard that Texas is willing to pay 3.5 a year. Apparently that's a lot for baseball coaches. I'm to lazy to find out what Pierce was paid.

Ese he was making $1.2M and is owed 70% of it as contracted buyout, so $800K x 2 years left. He'll be fine. $3M+ would attract a coach, no doubt about it.

My son's friend is at my house right now. His uncle is Schlossnagle. His dad talked to Schloss this afternoon and said Texas is his dream job.

I hope this moves bodes well for the man.

Obviously Schloss wasn't going to say he was leaving last night after the loss, but he should have been more vague rather than berating that reporter for asking the question. It's also pretty clear that this deal was in place for a while now. All of this just didn't materialize today.

Texas could have locked him up 3 years ago for about half the price, but at any rate, Texas now has one of the best coaches in the country. And for this particular job, he is likely the best man for the job.

Texas hired Vic Schaefer and find themselves still waiting for him to win his first national championship. And how many football coaches have they been through since their last football championship? Obviously, you can blame another coach for taking their money on nothing more than a promise.

Vic is in contention just about every year. Hell of a coach, thanks
