The wife likes my current wilson staff model balls. I think I'll probably need to find a new one for myself, or find her a ball that spins better then her Srixon soft feel. She hits greens, but can't hold them with the soft feel. I gave her a sleeve and it really helped. So now I'm on the search.

Filling a gap…
My clubs go from driver to 4 hybrid. I need to replace my 3 wood with something I can actually hit with. I’m open to either replacing it with another 3 wood or possibly a 2 hybrid. Since I never use the 3w, and don’t know what my capabilities are with it, I’m not sure what the right direction to go is.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? I tried a 3 and 4 hybrid. Never could hit them. I have no use. I can hit a 3W now. There's a change that needs to take place to hit one off the ground and whatever a 3 or 4H offers over a 3W didn't help me. I hit some tee shots with a 3W for shape or distance reasons ... hole 6 and 13 at Gainesville. But I use a 3W on every par five (generally) for my second shot unless I really catch one and use a 5W. Yes, I actually have a 7W too because the 3-6 irons aren't my cup of tea. 7W to 8I. Sounds bad but I hit 7I 160-180 and 7W 185-200. I can figure out the in between right now . So the right direction for you is the right direction for you. Study what your club gaps are and what you hit well and what you don't then make a decision from there.
Pass the gravy.

Saturday shotgun start for a tournament benefiting local Lions Club. We drew hole 10, par three over water to start. One bogie, seven birds for a -6 65. Missed out on second place second flight to a scorecard playoff. Oh well. Buddies won with a -13 58.
After a cold piece of pizza and everyone left around 1:00, I went back out and played another 18 by myself. Lackluster 49 (par 37) on the front but man oh man did I turn it on on the back. Shot +1 35 on the back for my all time best nine and to somehow finish under 85. Going off at 8:15 Sunday morning but I also have a 2:00 tee time. We shall see...
Pass the gravy.

What the heck is going on with the US Olympic committee? Sometimes you have to use a little common sense and say, this player gives us the best chance to win despite of a particular golf ranking https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ng-able-to-play-for-usa-at-2024-olympicsBryson DeChambeau 'Frustrated' by Not Being Able to Play for USA at 2024 Olympics Bryson DeChambeau isn't happy that he won't be be part of the United States men's golf team for the 2024 Summer Olympics. "Am I frustrated, disappointed? Sure, you can absolutely say that," DeChambeau said during a Monday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. "But I made the choices that I made and there's consequences to that, and I respect it, but hopefully sooner rather than later we figure that out." Despite a victory in the U.S. Open on Sunday, DeChambeau wouldn't be able to make the Olympics due to his spot as the sixth-ranked player from the United States on the Official World Golf Ranking. Only the top four players in a country earn spots if all are within the top 15 (h/t USA Today's Cameron Jourdan).

HCI is down to 16.1. Was 19.2 in February. I have posted 59 scores in 2024. My all time low HCI is 15.5 on 9-11-23. Remember I am nearly 50 and did not play until after my 45th birthday ... and I am a left swing so I feel okay about all this.
My goal is a 12 by the end of the warm season.
Played five tournaments in the last month but that's mostly over for the year.
Y'all be careful out there, friend of a friend nearly died last Saturday and he consumed ZERO alcohol.
Pass the gravy.

Ditto on the heat. I played Westridge in McKinney and it was really hot. humidity adds to the index. It was hard keeping the right hand dry. Even with a towel, your hand got super sweaty in just a few seconds.

Started +6 after three on July 4th but finished with an 84 due to a +4 back nine. Seven pars and a birdie and only a few bogies mean I had four really bad holes and several good ones.
Pass the gravy.

Anyone ever golf in South Carolina? Yep, Myrtle Beach. A bunch of great courses there.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Our scramble partners want to do a golf get away out that way before she has major back surgery. I think she has doubts that she'll golf again. We want to make it happen. Aiming for September.

Anyone ever golf in South Carolina? Yep, Myrtle Beach. A bunch of great courses there. X100, Hilton Head nice too, Dafuskie Island across from Hilton Head. Have played Legacy in Myrtle that looks like a castle clubhouse and the Robert Trent Jones track near Boardwalk that Dustin Johnson played a ton while going to college at Coastal Carolina. Tons of photos of him and maybe the course record too.

Men's League today at noon-thirty. The format is 2-man shamble.
HCI is down to an all-time low of 14.8. Still trying to get to 12 before it gets cold.
Pass the gravy.

I’m packing to leave for Colorado Springs in the morning to play in the Broadmoor Invitational. High temps range from 72*-85*. I’m taking the whole family for 5 days. I might be asking for a THF loan to pay for this fiasco. I’m a 2, and my partner is a 0. Here’s hoping we can play to it!

Assigned partner and I shot 78/81 and finished mid-pack. I did get $50 for closest to the pin on the par three hole three. It wasn't close enough to win normally but it worked out yesterday. Entry was $45 and 16 oz beers are $5 so...
14:00 normal Sunday tee time today.
Pass the gravy.

So excited… Got lucky and received an awesome email today from Augusta National! Looking forward to taking the wife and kids next year because they’ve never been.
