HCI is down to 17.1 from a high of 19.4 over the winter. All time low was 15.5 on 9-11-23. Looking to get below 14 by August. Got a replacement driver head (same exact one) for the one I cracked. Can't believe I played it like that for at least two weeks. Used the new one for a week and decided to swap shafts. For a ready to use shaft like I wanted and with a Callaway left handed tip installed, was going to be $130. So I bought the raw shaft I wanted, bought the proper adapter, and used one the many new grips I have in stock (I build and repair clubs, re-lace and restore baseball mits, etc.) to build it myself for $75. Tipped it 1/4" and took the rest of length off the fat end to make it right about 1/2" longer than my old one. Going from a Project X HZRDUS Smoke iM10 stiff (6.0), light (50g), mid spin, mid torque (4.2)...To a Project X HZRDUS Smoke BLACK x-stiff (6.5) with ten more grams of weight (lightest 6.5 I could find), low spin, low torque (3.5). No joke ...seems to have given me 10-15 yards in the 13 holes I played it. Men's league today at 13:00. This month is Ryder Cup style teams/match play.
Pass the gravy.

Nice Guzzler, I hit that Project X Black Smoke shaft before in the 6.5, x, 70-75gr either in some prior Cobra, Ping or Titleist driver. Really liked it, very stable, very consistent feeling and loading golf shaft. Flight was upper mid-level from my recollection with low spin.

Do you worry about swing weight? Shaft weight only, clubs are pretty well balanced nowadays.

Played Trophy Club CC this morning, Hogan course, copper tees, 6500ish yards. Shot 38/38, 4-over with 3 birdies and one double bogey. Nice day but really humid after Thu. night's and yesterday"s heavy rains. Course was moist but not unplayable

Not sure I will risk leaving town with I35 closed and I know our course is closed after how much rain we got so I might have to skip Sunday.
Pass the gravy.

Frisco Lakes on Saturday (36 holes...80/83) and Heritage in McKinney today.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Lake Murray (Oklahoma) today. 90 degree rule is fine when most courses are flooded. Drains really well with sandy soil and the lake right next door.
I got beat 2-down in the match play deal Saturday. I played a 75-year old (that hit 600 yards shorter tees) and was 1-UP or tied the entire match but I had a mistake on 17 that I let get to my head.
Pass the gravy.

Played today in 100 degree heat, it felt like 110. Walked and carried my bag for 18 holes, played the tips and shot 86.

Got to play in Florida last week at a nice course, randomly paired with another duo, I went 278y off the first drive with my driver. Bid dude of the duo went 289y with a 3 iron. It’s was obvious we played a different game of golf

Pulled the trigger on the Srixon ZX7 4-pw with modus 120 stiff and the ZX5 3 iron. Quit screwing around with club fitting and take some short game and putting lessons from someone who knows what they're doing. You should instantly shave a few strokes off your game.

You need to change with them or you'll be fighting the club, and that's no fun. Here are some numbers. Blue are my current club. PING and The ZX7s were the finalist, Mizuno flew too far for me.

Did they fit you into some new woods? Are these the XKII? I told him I was good with my fairway woods, so he said let's see a couple. I hit three 3 woods 260 strait down the line, and said yeah we don't need to see anymore. I hit about 10 different driver, and shaft combinations. The two that really stood out were the Ping 9 degree 430 max, and the Titlelist TSR2 9 degree. I hit the ping pretty good but minimal benefits over my current G425 10 degree turn down to 9. The TSR 2 on the other hand went pretty deep for me, but backspin was a little to low for me so I held off until I do more research. It was dead straight though.

These look pretty good with driver, any idea on Smash factor? Last time on Trackman during a Ping demo day, I was getting a lot of 1.48s and a couple of 1.50s...Not bad for one good meniscus, right leg. Ball speeds were in upper 150s to 161/162 top.

The fitter didn't let me step on it, he saw me pick my swing speed 5 MPH and he told me to just swing smooth. I think if I would of be able to go after that TSR2 I could have gotten better backspin numbers. I'm gonna head to the PGA store and pound it, to see if it's a fit for me.
I want 110+ club head speed on the regular, and 160 ball speed. I'm probably gonna have to stretch and train a little bit to get there controlled.
