I have never played Champion's Circle nor Robson Ranch. The original plan was to play Bridlewood but we couldn't get on the day we needed. So I shifted to Robson Ranch (never played it either). The only guest tee time available were bought by a reseller that wanted me to pre-pay for all four players to reserve the tee time. Calling the office did nothing to help as they said those were the only available guest times and it was out of his hands. So my friend Mike (lives on Tour 18 but rarely plays there) found us a time we could live with farther south (not too far from him but I'm up here by the Red River). I like playing new to me places though. Looks like it's about $60 which is fine if the course is decent. Tanglewood for $80 a couple weeks ago was excessive.

Pass the gravy.

Played Stephens Park in OC yesterday with a 74 year old friend from FT Worth who I was best buddies with his younger brother in OC, will not discuss my score but I did birdie 18 banana2

Course was in fairly good shape, about half the holes were cart path only and some of the other holes that you could drive on had sections where you couldn't, most all of the holes looked like no problem to drive on.

Their fricking golf cart display screen that show's you the info on each hole was annoying as hell, constantly telling us we are 10 or 5 minutes behind and to speed up our play when there is no one pushing us at all.
Warning us that we were speeding "you are doing 5mph, speed limit is 4mph" bang

You are 3 minutes behind speed up, you are 10 minutes behind move to the next hole, golf Marshal might come out, I joked and said they better send Marshal Dillon. scared laugh
It had a feature that would shut down the cart if you drove in areas that you were not suppose to which I actually liked even though it busted us several times

Look I get it, some people play way to dang slow and need the kick in the azz, not the case with us, we were having to get out of the cart and walk a good distance on most holes to hit our next shot, no other players got anywhere close to us from behind.

They should have smarter golf cart programs that detect when you are holding up the players behind you and give you a warning. Who gives a rats azz how long takes you to play if you are not hindering anyone else's play?

Besides the rant on the golf carts, it was a great day to be on a golf course and the price was right, only $38.for senior rate, tee time was 10:30.

For a city course hard to beat this view.

Oh chit man did the cold beer taste great after playing in that 95° humid weather cheers Had I not had to meet someone I would have indulged in a second one.

Winstar has the same but different issue. They got an all new fleet of very nice carts last year but did not address the GPS woes. On more than once occasion, both at Red Bud and Scissortail, I have had the cart shut down on me saying RESTRICTED AREA when I was on the cart path. The new carts are speed limited in certain areas such as the parking lot and near the practice area. The behind time warning is kinda dumb because most times when you're behind pace it's because of the people in front of you and there's usually nothing you can do. Pace is what the marshals are supposed to monitor. Unfortunately the only time a marshal is around is when you don't want one and when you need one, they are absent. When my old friend Wilson was alive, he'd tell the starter what cart he had and they'd turn off the "can't drive there" feature so he could get closer to his ball.

Weather should be PERFECT for Champion's Circle today...

Pass the gravy.

Will do. Tee time 11:48, leaving home at 10:00 after an online GM class. Perfect timing for an almost lunch snack.

Also I am dealing with this ...

Ordered a replacement that should be here Monday. For now I filed off the powder coating along the crack, masked off a rectangle, and added some club head epoxy. It'll keep it from flying off I think.

From the ads I saw on Oakmont, looks like a nice course.

Haven't played it in 5 years or so but layout is very fair, pretty open, not overly long, usually true greens. Conditions can be very good to average. Looking forward to it.

Dang...I'm just barely better than a bogie golfer hoping the group I get put with tonight does -5 or better in nine holes.

Left work early yesterday and played 18, 18 today at noon, 9-hole money game tonight, 2:00 tee times Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Usually play at least 27 on Saturdays and Sundays.

And I am driving to Commerce and back Friday before noon, cutting trees Saturday before noon. hammer

Play pretty good on a pretty hard course. I know a 91 doesn't sound great, but our local course is not an easy one. If yall are ever in S.A. bring yalls clubs and we'll play Silverhorn.

I hit a nice drive on 18, it left me 215 to the hole, I stripe a 3 iron 2 ft from the hole....... miss the eagle putt. bang

Champion's Circle was nicer than I'd heard. Had to pay for range balls and the range was small and overcrowded but the price to play was only $50 so it's fine.

I did okay with exception of holes 1, 2, and 18.

Did NOT make the money game last night. Local course is FLOODED and will be for days. Got so much rain up here they closed I35 just as I was getting back from Fort Worth.

Here's the #1 #6 and #9 fairways as seen from Weber Blvd.

Told you it was a good, challenging track; get some wind howling and it's a downright beast off the tips. Couple of forced driver carries like #18 to narrow, tight sloping fairway. You grab any Buccees brisket tacos?

Lake Murray today and maybe tomorrow. Local course is likely still flooded.

Local course was 90 degree rule surprisingly so I did not drive the 30 miles to LM. I was the second person on after a charity scramble so it went fast and I found a bunch of lost balls. It was CPO during the tournament so the players left a lot of balls behind.

Game is slumping. Back at it today.

We were in Orange Beach this past week and played a couple of nice courses...Peninsula and Craft Farms. They were great condition.

Playing Twin Creeks in Allen tomorrow. Will be happy if I shoot in the 90's, I haven't played in over 8 months.
