More big news for the US thermal market this week! Infiray Outdoor just announced their newest scope and the first 3x 1024 HD high end thermal rifle to hit the market. It's in their Bolt (30mm tube daytime scope) design and it has a true 1024x1024 HD sensor with a 60mm lens giving it a 3x base magnification. The scope also has the huge 2560x2560 display screen that everyone loves in their Bolt TH50-C and the new RH50R. The scope will run off of both the internal battery and a fully removable 18650. The bluetooth LRF module is available as an add on as well. The price tag on the scope is $6,9999 and it will begin shipping to dealers within the next 2 weeks.

We've been field testing one of the TX60-C's and it's exactly what everyone has been asking for. It's an absolutely legitimate 1024 scope with an amazing image quality and at the price, it's going to make waves and shake up the industry, which seems to have been a common occurrence over the last year or two. I know that $7k is still a lot of money but if you look at what $7k got you 2-3 years ago or even more drastic, what it got you 6+ years ago, it's crazy to see the quality improvements and price drops over time.

Hans and I will have an interview with iRay USA releasing tomorrow on The Late Night Vision Show announcing the scope and we'll have a field review coming in a few weeks after more testing and hunting.

Very cool!

$7K is a lot of money, now, but relatively speaking, given the features and what they would have cost previously, The price actually really good.

I still remember buying my first 320 resolution rifle scope for $7K because all the 640s were $12-24k. The 320 was an ATN that didn't work right and it got returned. A few months later, FLIR dropped their prices on parts and Armasight had their Zeus 3 (640 resolution, 30 whole Hz, and <50mk) that I nabbed for just over $7k. Later IR Defense was selling $9k 640 units. Trijicon still does, I believe.

Nowadays, N-Vision and Trijicon have 640 resolution scopes that are more expensive than the Bolt you have above and it has more features. A 640 Halo with LRF is $9500. https://nvisionoptics.com/product/halo-xrf/

So yeah, $7k is higher end, especially when folks know they can be functional for 1/3 of that price, but it is far from the top and it is a lot better than higher priced and less capable thermals currently being offered. In short, the cost per pixels and features seem like a very good value. When you pay more, you should get more and InfiRay seems to be delivering on this.

First off great to have competition...but I sure wish they would've mirrored the low end magnification to the Pulsar. Especially with these folks now using optical zoom versus everything being digital in the past.

Great offering and love seeing more folks jump into the 1024 space.

I agree DNS. It's one of those things that I know $7k seems crazy now but for those of us who've been around the thermal game for awhile, it seems cheap. Even now the better 640's on the market are $5,500-$6,000 and as you mentioned there are still high end 640's in the $9,500 range. It's definitely an interesting time in this market.
