There's another thread on the lake but most people won't talk about scouting or hunting a specific lake on an open channel. I, on the other hand, am happy to point any and all away from my local hunting spots...:)

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Deep, everywhere it is deep. If it is somewhat shallow, I expect there to be a bass boat near by.

The duck hunting is west of 897, I have not been back there yet, but probably not a place to take a bass boat or an outboard.

West is where I went. So did 90% of the bass boat community. You should go! Great and beautiful place. Just deep every I went. And I checked it pretty good..

The channel looks deep just looking from 897. I figured there would a lot of floating logs and debris back there. I sold my big mud rig and having a new one built, I will be going back there when I get my new rig. I been crappie fishing on the lake in my small momarsh I have rigged with a spot lock trolling motor, but I been staying close to the ramp.

Lots of shallow water on the north bank if you go west bout far as you can go. Good haul but bet it will be worth it
