These MFs are killing me! 15 of them. Any free choice protein feeder they just can't get to?

I have a hanging 4 inch pvc pipe feeder that I built . The lid was so tight that I had to hammer it off and on. Somehow, they got the lid off of it. That’s while standing on it. Somewhere I have a game cam pic with 11 on or around it. I have no idea how they did that.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley, Rancher Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP

Akin to pleasing multiple masters, appeasing every women and understanding what all is going on in national politics, it's tough to deal with these guys. Extremely tough. If any "rocket sugeon" herein suggests your using chemiclas near feed mechansims, i would strongly caution against it.

Fishbait is right. The dog proof traps with marshmallows works. Southern snares sells their version with a round shaped trigger that makes it more likely they will trip it. The trigger only trips when they pull on it, not when they push on it. You can just wire them to the feeder legs or make up your own cables. Verde

they can be a real problem, Or you can buy coonhoods for most feeder models. Around $100 per port.

when I set our hog traps I put out 2-3 of the dogproof type, catch a few and the buds seem to get the msg. suppressed 22 works good too.

With dog proof traps and dry cat food, I can keep my numbers down. I set them for about 3 days and then let it rest for 2-3 weeks, then start again. That's what has worked for me for several years. You will always have some, but you can greatly reduce numbers that way.

1) Dog Proof "Duke" traps w/ dry cat food and a marshmallow. Put out A LOT in one area to catch as many as possible that night because if there are 10 in area and you only put out two traps and catch two, the other eight are educated. 1b) once you catch some, you must let that area rest I personally put out 4-6 per set and I own 11-12 traps (so I can get 2 rounds per weekend)
2) put axle grease on the legs of the protein feeder and coat the legs good (its messy). It does not deter the deer from eating protein.
