Fall AZ deer/turkey/Javelina draw is now open. It you think you want to hunt deer in AZ in the future buy a point. It'll cost you a license and app fee (about $100). LIcense is good for a year so if you plan to hunt OTC archery the license will be good until next May. If you don't think you will gun hunt AZ Coues deer but think you will archery OTC then wait until later to buy your license. That way, the license will be good for January, August and December OTC. Used to be your January tag was good for a whole year so if you didn't get a deer in January you could go back in August. I don't know if that is still the case with the new quota system. I'll have to check.

If you're hunting OTC in January and want to add a javelina tag this is not the draw you want. That draw is in October.

Me and a friend bought OTC tags again this year. I have a couple of points and will be applying just to see if I get extremely lucky. I’ve hunted AZ twice and fell in love chasing those dessert mulies. So much so my wife and I are considering buying a house there in the future

Me too. I'm supposed to be retired there but I still have a business and house to sell. One of these days. I think about being able to just drive about 10 miles and be in the mountains or desert. I love Texas but the geology around DFW is primo boring.
