"Was pregnant" definitely makes more sense if the child has already been born. Unless, of course, you're referring to a group of formerly pregnant females.

I agree. Why cant people use apostrophe's properly any more?

It fits this younger generation. They can't tell you what a female is so they just say we are pregnant. They probably don't know which one is pregnant or maybe we is their pronoun.

"We're Pregnant!" Doesn't really bother me. Assuming it's a man and woman, it did take both of them to get it done.

"We're Pregnant!", makes as much sense as when a parent says "WE" won the game when talking about their son's baseball or football game.

It might be some form of protection to say that. Keeping the pregnant woman from going berserk, as they do from time to time. I remember those days.

You always refer to your home team and your government as "we". "We won the game" is completely acceptable. Likewise, "we won the war" is also correct.

I don't care either way on "we're pregnant". There are two people involved. Technically, only one of them is pregnant, but she didn't do it by herself, and hopefully, it's a sign that she won't have to carry on by herself.

Were as in past tense or we're as in we are? Besides, I always believed it took a male and a female instead of just a we? Both may have been needed to get there, but only one of you is pregnant and it is the female. World is not in a very good place and grammatically we are in the same category. Maybe if we could start doing the little things correctly, we could work our way up to the bigger things?

And... why is "pregnant" capitalized in the title?

Coach is part of the team. Parents are not.

I never say “ we won” when talking about my kids sports team. They either win or lose, I had nothing to do with it.

That’s the same as someone saying “ we won” when talking about the Cowboys or the Astros. I’m sorry sir, I didn’t know you were on the roster…


As far as the “we” being pregnant, a male cannot be pregnant. The female is pregnant. The male can impregnate, but cannot be pregnant.
