Lost my first to leukemia. Remarried four years later (I wasn't really looking), and we'll celebrate our 20-year anniversary next month. cool

Caveat: I'll never find another like the one I have now, so I'm sure she'll be the last.

Careful. On the crazy/hot matrix, you’re getting into the tranny zone roflmao

Good catch trapper. Definitely pegging the matrix scale.
Crazy/hot matrix is right up there with the island tipping over guy as my two faves from here.

It would take a special set of circumstances for me to marry again.

I was not 100% sure that I wanted to get married to my first wife and looking back I should have listened to my gut but oh well. Tinder was new at the time so I gave it a try and there were lots of good looking women on there. The problem is that there isn't that many good women on there. A lot of them would pick the nicest restaurant in town for the first meet up and then ditch you. It didn't take long to figure out what was going on. Altogether, I had some good conversations and other things. When I decided to quit dating for awhile , it was then that a friend introduced me to this girl he knew. One thing led to another and we are married and have two boys together. You never know what is going to come around the corner.

Divorced twice (imagine that). After the first divorce I sowed my oats at all the country bars, wore that chit out. Second divorce after 25 years, I soon got on a dating site. Wasn't worth it.
Moved to Frisco Lakes, chased these gals around here for several years had a BLAST.

Met a gal who's husband had died. We started dating a year after his passing, we've been dating fir 5 years

NO MARRAGE.

Love my wife but think I’m a one and done person. It would take a woman so perfect for me to even consider I don’t think it’s possible. I would not be on the lookout for one, I’d be busy just doing exactly whatever the heck I wanted when where and how I pleased.

We met in high school 1974, got married June 1976, It will be 48 years this June. I was stationed in Pensacola, FL at the time U.S. Navy. After the wedding we loaded up everything we had in a chevy truck with a camper shell on it and headed east.
Back then having a phone in the house was too expensive, we had to go to the A&P grocery store and use the pay phone to call home. That's one reason we're still together because it was just us no influence from friends and family we had to work it out between the two of us.
Yes we're soul mates and getting remarried I'd have to think about that for a long time.

I'm on my second wife, and she is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm so glad I got out of the first one, because being married shouldn't be hard.

The wife always ask if I would remarry if she was to die..... that's a big old negative. I would only "date" banana

When you get OLDER, it is good to have someone to take care of you if you have surgery etc. Sometimes family are busy.

You got it. I'm having cataract surgery next month and need a ride for at least 4 appointments. Wife still not able to drive after her last surgery. Sister-in-Law is filling in for her.

Thinking back to those days. Wife was screwing around. Judge said that I needed to move out. The other guy, her boss, moved in. At first, I was depressed and hitting the bars. Went through some self pity. I found out that being a father going through a divorce in Texas was like being a second class citizen. Due to my gender, I got to see my kids 4 days per month, 2 weeks during the summer and alternating Christmas’s. Paid child support and she got the house. Boy friend (her boss) moved in. When he died, I didn’t shed a tear.

I went through some depression and insecurity. Hit the bars and had a chip on my shoulder. They tried everything to wreck my relationship with my kids. They were successful but the daughters and I finally worked through that.

Went through some group counseling and was told to go to the First Methodist Church of Fort Worth. They had a large Sunday School class for middle aged singles. At that time an average Sunday was about 250 people. Lots of activities every night of the week. So many women; it was like getting a drink out of a fire hose and I lost the depression, insecurity and the chip on my shoulder. Finally married one and we have been together 33 years.

Saw my ex a couple of years ago. I’ll just say that she hasn’t aged well and my wife doesn’t even remotely show her age.

Found out my EX was the spawn of Satan. I got her room in hell and guaranteed it with my credit card. She can check in anytime she likes.

Was married for 7 years the first go around. As previously mentioned, we got married for the wrong reasons, namely because "that was the next natural step" as we had lived together for a few years. I had actually broke up with her about 3 months after we got engaged but she hit me with the "where am I supposed to go" line and I let her back in. Just was poor decision making all the way around.

Got divorced at 29 and man, I had some big plans. Had my own house, was making a decent enough living, was in great shape....I had all the tools needed to be a grade A man-[censored] and I hit the ground running. Was at the bar every night. In actuality, I was on a crash course for disaster. I actually prayed to God one night to bring me someone because I knew I was going to self-destruct if I kept going the way I had been going, it wasn't sustainable.

A few weeks later I met my Wife. Wasn't planning on it turning into anything serious. We celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary tomorrow.

I do well within the confines of marriage. If I don't have any accountability, I tend to act up and get into trouble. I know this about myself

Last month we were married forty one years, as much as I like being married, if something was to happen to her I wouldn’t marry again.
I’m sure I would be one and done.

I wouldn't remarry or date. I would just find a good looking woman with lots of money and a FWB scenario.

I took me almost 30 years to train the one I got, and it's still ongoing. No way I'm starting over. And yes, she laughs when I make that joke, which is one of the ways I know she's the right one.

I can't say what I'd do without being in that situation, but I know it would take me a while to even consider anything. I tend to internalize stress and wanna be left alone to deal with it. I wouldn't be much fun for a long time.

I do know a couple of guys in their 50's like me that are single. As one of them put it, there are three kinds of single women at our age. Been alone her whole life, through what was most likely a bitter divorce, or is a widow. All come with a lot of baggage and its a real chit show out there. I think getting a few more bird dogs and spending every day I can hunting and fishing the rest of my days sounds pretty good.

Many years ago it seemed obvious to me that:

- Marrying young was tough. No money and no experience. But you went into it with no baggage.

- Marrying older, if you’ve been previously married or not, there’s baggage on both sides. Hopefully you have more money and more experience.

We got married at 20 years old. Grew up together. Went through tough times. Made a life and raised kids. If I lost her now I really don’t know how I could get along. Hopefully I’ll go first. But, as Kenny Chesney sang “Everyone wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to go now”.

Pretty much the same story and thoughts here. Wifeypoo forced me to marry her when I was 22 and she was 21.
