Looks like a major provider of thermal products and parts may be sanctioned, namely IRAY. That could impact InfiRay, Bering Optics, Rix Optics, Guide, and I think AGM to some extent as well (and maybe a couple of others). Warranties will be worthless if the companies go out of business. Service will be next to impossible if the companies go out of business. All electro-optics will require service sooner or later. That is a given.

I don't think anybody knows the extent to what extent the sanctions will impact the industry, but it won't be good.

And that's why I have stayed with Pulsar all these years.

Because they aren't involved with Russia and the war on the Ukraine? That is a recent & odd sort of flex given that the reason for the sanctions is the war in the Ukraine. Yukon, parent company of Pulsar is a Belarus-Lithuanian company and was a seller of optics to the Russian military complex up until the war with Ukraine.

However, you may want to hold your breath. As of June of last year, they were still operating a factory inside of Russia....

I think I’ll be fine. Just happy I didn’t mess with the other companies.

Night vision/IR products are non-exportable except by special license. As Ru has to import most electronics parts, I don't see a problem. The posted order primarily about finances - no hardware mentioned.

I’ll take company longevity and excellence support over certain features on an optic all day. Not just thermal and NV either. I’ve always been pleased by holding true to that. Don’t get me wrong that I don’t think Chi-Ray makes some good products, I just don’t like to gamble with 4-5 grand when it shouldn’t be a gamble in the first place. I’m sure someone will be along to tell me how wrong I am but that’s okay.

I hope Bering is around for a long time - lots of value for the dollar with them

The LRF models are solid

Actually all the aforementioned companies have some pretty good offerings throughout their product lines - US consumers have it really good right now in the thermal market .
