The United States already tried this with alcohol and it was repealed. Weed has been illegal since 1937. The two really can't be compared because they are different substances. I've met with thousands of people who are addicted to meth, heroin or crack and the vast majority all told me they started with weed and it led to their lives being ruined.

I’ve seen kids (teens and 20s) party on the weekends drinking beer and lead productive lives, and the same age group at the same time turn to weed and live their lives being unproductive and lazy. I’ve saw it a lot, although that’s not a blanket statement to be sure. Theirs lazy people at church every Sunday who do neither.

If states can make it legal, what is the point of the federal law? You would think they would want to remove the federal law so Trump can slap a tarrif on imports.

Cigarettes and alcohol are legal and thousands die from both every year. Make weed legal and tax the snot out of it. Don't be a hypocrite!

I suspect since it is legal in many states, that has pretty much snuffed out the Mexican marijuana cross border black market. They are probably focused on other drugs now, more profit.

Yeah, humans The biggest for federal law is it would open up banking and tax laws. They don’t pay taxes on net income, just gross because the IRS doesn’t look at it as a legitimate business. I assume none of that has changed in the last decade…one of the “legal” states biggest expense is security because it’s all cash. I tried back then to figure out a way to break into the market with a credit card offering. I couldn’t get any of the big players to work with me. At the time, the company I worked for had just launched a new product that was card related…it afforded me a lot of solid contacts. I struck out.

Then I take it that you are in favor of the possession and use of alcohol being banned. Is that correct? Yes “Alcoholism places a significant financial burden on taxpayers, estimated at around $249 billion annually, encompassing healthcare costs, lost productivity, and other societal expenses” Now divide 249 billion by the 260 million adults in US.. Okay then. Make it illegal. Not only will you strip another freedom from people, but then all of those problems will just go away.

Alot money But I’m down for making it all legal, but you have to play Russian roulette when you walk into the liquor/drug store before you buy…. Every time.. All seriousness, I 100% get the freedom, I’m just tired of paying for others people’s drug habits, regardless of drug. Is banning all of it something I would die on sword for absolutely not, but I know which way I would vote if it came to it.

What good has manifested from making weed legal anywhere?

Democrats and weed go hand in hand.
DEA Agrees To Reschedule Marijuana Under Federal Law In Historic Move Following Biden-Directed Health Agency’s Recommendation I guess you haven't been to Oklahoma? Not exactly a bastion for democrats. Plenty of republicans smoke too. Not, never met a republican who smoked pot...maybe some Faux Republicans, but not real conservatives.

There was not a single Dem county in OK per election results and there's a real pot problem there as well so...yeah, Reps smoke but regardless, it's bad for the economy just like it's bad for the brain (usually).
Pass the gravy.
