Just got word that Chet, big poster on gun dogs and upland hunting threads, passed away on Friday. I bought a good pointer from him a few years ago. Just visited with him back in February.
RIP

Met him on Mesquite Grove, Good Guy RIP

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

He also loved bass fishing
I kept a pup for him one time when he went on an extended fishing trip

It's still hard to believe Chet is gone. Yep tigger he loved bass fishing for sure.. but bird dogs were his kryptonite. He loved pups every year and the prospects and hopes they would become great ones.

Oh no! I was talking to Chet about a pup from his last litter. Went with my setter instead. He was extremely nice and of even more extremely knowledgeable. So, so sorry to hear this.

RiP Chet

When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible.
