pscho0819 is that 2 protein feeders in your picture? Is there 1 for corn? There are 3 protein feeders in that pen one just out of sight on the left. 3 ports each, I've seen them stand in line to eat, lol. No corn feeders in the pen but there is one about 75yds from it, and two more within 200yds. all of them run year around as well.

There is an old saying. "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". You can't make a 160" deer if the genes are not there. Even feeding manna from heaven won't do it.

There is an old saying. "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". You can't make a 160" deer if the genes are not there. Even feeding manna from heaven won't do it. Not saying 160 isn’t big, but they pop up from time to time all over. My first lease was in garden ridge there was a 170+ shot off it in years past, old lease in kendallia had a few in the 150-160 range shot, buddy shot a low 150’s 8 in new braunfels. None are areas known for large deer… mostly due to land segmentation, hunting pressure and over population. I’d bet nearly every time that genetics are not the limiting factor for the area.
